Braves vs. Cardinals Contradictory Lines What does it mean?

ML line for the is matchup is Braves -110 vs. Cards +102

However the lines spread (i.e. -1.5) for both teams  is Braves +180 vs. Cards +156.

The lines doesn't make any sense because if the Cards is the underdog for the ML then the spread line(i.e., -1.5) for the Cards should at least be higher than  the Braves +180. That's just simple logic

Has anyone seen this before?

I'm hoping that the illogic indicates the right play.

I wish it was that easy.

Your bookie has an error.  Get on it quick.  But beware.

maybe I should of said that my book allows clients to buy or sell points.....so with my example....-1.5 is for both teams.

 

This is no error...I'm able to buy or sell runs....and at -1.5 for either team, the above is what I get....The point I was trying to make was the ML Dog is St Louis but if you have St. Louis at -1.5, it is less than Braves at -1.5....which shouldn't be the case logically

Don't know if it is the reason for the disparity here or not, but I know a LOT of people will not play the home team -1.5 ever (as they bat one less inning if they are up 1 or more runs).

And for the record, Atlanta is beat up and not playing well.  I'm not saying I'd be the house on the Cards here, but there is no way I'm taking the Braves until the turn thing around.

It's not uncommon at all. Cards get the extra at bat to add on in the 9th if they're up 1. Braves don't. And if it goes extras, Cards are alive while the Braves are all but done.

okay, now its back to normal logic again.

Braves -1.5 is 170   and Cards -1.5 is 179 with the ML being Braves -123 and Cards 110...

The extra bat explanation does make sense...but it's still an underdog that is not suppose to win, so to win by 2 should at least be more than the favorite that wins by 2....just my opinion
