No Griffey is the best all around player I have seen.
So you must think Mark Tex sucks at defense and had ot be hid at first base. Or any other great defensive first baseman was really just a scrub who had to be hid there.
Sorry to tell you this but in major league baseball you still have to play good defense.
Pujols:
2004: 5th in MLB 2005: 9th in MLB 2006: 1st in MLB 2007: 1st in MLB 2008: 2nd in MLB 2009: 9th in MLB
Arod:
2004: 4th in MLB 2005: 12th in MLB 2006: 21st in MLB (last for qualified/everyday 3rd basemen) 2007: 13th in MLB 2008: 14th in MLB 2009: 15th in MLB
Pujols is a great defensive player. Arod is below average-below average. Even baseball analysts appreciate Pujols defense and mention how great/underrated his defense is because his offense overshadows that part of his game.

I am not bashing Pujols,he is a great player but he is not the all around player that Arod is...plain and simple....and Arod is not a below average fielder...anyone who thinks that is nuts...also stolen bases and baserunning count as all around player....

And what makes you think he is not average-below average defensively?
The most advanced/accurate defensive stats and metrics say otherwise. You do not watch every 3rd baseman in the league so you have no idea what league average is.... You are a Yankee fan and Arod lover so your eyes will lie to you and say otherwise.
If you can make any logical, valid argument saying why Arod is good defensively or above average... I would love to see htat.
One of the two best publicly available defensive statistics, if not
the best. UZR is tougher to understand intuitively than the Dewan +/-
system, but the basic gist is that UZR puts a run value to defense,
attempting to quantify how many runs a player saved or gave up through
their fielding prowess (or lack thereof). There are a couple different
components to UZR (per FanGraphs),
including:
Outfield Arm Runs (ARM) – the amount of runs above average an
outfielder saves with their arm by preventing runners to advance.
Double-Play Runs (DPR) – the amount of runs above average an
infielder is in turning double-plays.
Range Runs (RngR) – is the player an Ozzie Smith or an Adam Dunn?
Do they get to more balls than average or not?
Error Runs (ErrR) – does the player commit less or more errors
compared with a league-average player at the position?
These categories are then all compiled into one mega-stat, UZR.
Since UZR is measured as runs, it can be compared easily with a
player’s offensive contributions (wRAA) tit for tat.

Baseball is about scoring runs and run prevention.
Pujols is always in the positive of saving runs at his position while Arod has consistently been in the negative of allowing runs/not preventing runs from scoring that the league average defender would have stopped.

Pujols is great but Arod is the best all around player of this generation...There is no argument to be made...your best arguement is Barry Bonds not Pujols
Maybe you need to look at Pujols hitting stats..... And that being in a lineup where the pitcher has intentionally walked him because there was no one else in the lineup... Imagine Pujols hitting in that Yankees lineup .... Look at the batting average the guy has... He has never hit under .314 and his average batting avg is .333.... Pujols is the best player of the 2000 decade and will be the best hitter ever before it is all said and done.....Guy is a fucking monster.
Better Batting average, better slugging, better hr per ab %............Do I even need to go on any more?

See that you're a Yankee fan...you could see it my way. If it was Joe Mauer that did what A-Rod did by walking over Braden's mound. And Braden called out Joe Mauer. Everyone would be calling Braden a box and a baby and whatnot. No doubt in my mind. But because it's Alex Rodriguez. A Yankee and a roid user...everyone is so quick to talk shit about him.
Uhhh, I can promise you Joe Mauer wouldn't handle that by asking who is Dallas Braden.
Interesting attempt at a comparison though
