Yea but a lot of things have to go right to score 14.5 runs in a game.... Just like a total of 80 in a college football game... With them scoring 18 runs yesterday they had to raise the total some.... I agree with you that it seems that they want you to play the under but I just dont feel good about playing overs of 14.5 runs.

yes jim i understand your point, but you know that when we saw yesterdays total set at 13, we inmediately jumped on it! and today with 14.5 , we would say ok lets grab it, and i think it goes under today!

I remember some of the totals for the Rockies used to be really high. What is the highest baseball total ever? Anyone know?

Im sayin they are too tired roundin the bases from yesterday and the under is the play.

the oddmakers set the # for a reason,, yesterday is a high # too,, but it went over,,, public will take the Under for 14.5,,, i go the other way,, this game will be some where 15-18 runs ,,which way do you go????

WOW.....Now that's NOT a low price.

I don't ever recall a total being that high on the opener.

Actually the wind is somewhat different today than yesterday here. Yesterday the wind was from the SSE, cutting across from right field, but definitely out to left. Today it is a warm and humid SSW gale straight out to center. GL

Not with this kind of wind at Wrigley.

Yesterday they went 3 innings with 1 run.  It only takes one or two innings to hit this play.

Im with you man... If I was going to play I would play the over... But I am not going to play an over 14.5 no matter what the wind is doing. I played the over yesterday and probably should play it again today but with 18 runs scored yesterday I am laying off.

The value is in the under but you never know it could be one of those GS UTAH over 252's.  Lopez is very shaky and you gotta think that the Cubbies are going break out and the D-backs are going come back down to earth.  Take away the Fukodome Grand slam and its 13-1.  Remember, there is no such thing as clutch hitting.  Every AB is independent of itself.  We shall see.

Personally, I'm not scared of this number. It may come down how many are on base when they hit these HRs. But, looking out my window, there has been absolutely no let up on the flags blowing out. Plus, that wind howls through the mezz at Wrigley right into the pitcher's face.

Vegas has had plenty of practice setting totals in windy Wrigley...don't think they are off with this 14.5  .  I've seen games where pop-ups carry out.  It really depends on the pitchers, if the ball gets off the ground it has a chance to go out.  I like Cubbies to get more fly balls off Lopez.

-15.5   Colorado vs. Oakland (7/17/2000)  Final score: 11-10 Oakland


There were SEVERAL 13+ Wrigley Field totals in July of 1999...... There was a total of 15 for Cubs/Pirates on 9/26/1999... final score was 8-4.

Also total of 15 on 5/11/00.. went over easily at 14-8.

Wells may cool some of the Arizona Bat's
but I expect the Cubs to light up Lopez.
Lopez is 1-1 with a 7.59 ERA in two starts versus the Cubs
