UFC on FX 2 Plays

A rare losing night for me, as the plays went 3-5 for -12.3 units. 

A lot of weird things that simply did not go my way tonight. 

1.  Cole Miller fighting without any apparent game plan against Steven Siler.  Siler was clearly gassing going into the 3rd round, and the genius Miller only decides to go for a whole hearted takedown in the final minute of the round?!?  If he had gone for that takedown a few minutes earlier (and he did have opportunities), he would have probably been able to stop Siler.

2.  Ian McCall.  I had it 29-28 Mighty Mouse as well.  I thought Johnson was winning most of the striking exchanges in the first 2 rounds, and McCall did nothing with the takedowns in the first round.  What really annoys me is that the ref looked like he was about to stop the fight in the final 20 seconds when McCall just stoped hitting Johnson and started pandering to the crowd.  If he had continued to throw down instead, the ref might have stopped the fight...

3.  Thiago Alves.  He was on his way to a 30-27 UD when for some idiotic reason, he went for a takedown with less than a minute to go, jumping right into a guillitoine.  What a f*cking idiot!!!

I don't really have a problem with the decision.  I am more annoyed that McCall stopped throwing down in the final 20 seconds or so and started pandering to the crowd when it looked like the ref was going to stop the fight.

Two rought outcomes that went against me tonight and two last week (Okami and Mizugaki).  Unfortunately, these things happen from time to time....

...however, I cannot complain too much, as I have had several whacky finishes go my way as well over the years...

agreed on your mighty mouse assessment. what people dont realize is that johnson clearly outstruck mccall on the feet in the first round which may have cancelled out the two takedowns. this fight was no way a robbery in the manner of the machida/rua decision.

I agree it was the right decision. Just a disappointment he couldn't finish it. Had a good night anyway that was the cherry on top being a nice dog ....GL

I have updated my record to reflect the draw, by subtracting a loss from my UFC and overall record, and adding 4 units to each total.
