Getting out grappled by Yves Edwards pretty much tells you all you need to know about Cody McKenzie ![]()
I am actually quite high on Marcus Levesseur. I definitely think he is a prospect worth keeping an eye on. He has elite level wrestling that is going to be difficult to contain for most of his opponents. Levessuer may not finish this fight nor may he win many people over with his grapple heavy style, but he should do more than enough to sweep 30-27 for a UD in this match up.

No, I didn't get any. I still may but I'm not too amped up about the card

The card does not look that bad. I agree that the main event blows, but they have definitely put on worser shows on paper. Bisping and Boetsch should be good! I was really looking forward to seeing that one in Vegas. I am pissed that they moved that fight to Calgary.

Both Yang and Tavares are pretty much equal in terms of skill set. However, Tavares has been out of action almost a year with an injury. In what I deem to be a pick'em fight, I would rather be on the guy not coming off of a year long layoff and getting some nice + money to boot.

I am warming up to it.. it started out looking pretty bad, but they did all they could to salvage it, namely stealing bisping and boetcsh from your 148 event. that will be a great stand up war... id rather see that as the 5 round main event

That Levesseur loss was f*cking brutal. He takes him down 8 seconds into the round right into side control, then let him up? ![]()
Then when he is sitting in full guard and could pull out, he stays and gets choked out...![]()
Really sorry guys. I am beyond ice cold with my capping at the moment,...![]()
Hopefully the main card ends up better for me, or else I am in for a monster losing night...![]()

Hey Mr,
No worries. Silva's been doing a great job with the match-making recently. All of the more recent events have been very unpredictable. I didn't even know Korean Zombie had a ground game, haha...was not ready for that at all...

Last night was one of the worst MMA capping nights I have ever had. The plays went 2-6 for -14.25. I only got 4 of the 11 fights correct, and my lean on the twelth was also dead wrong.
Other than the Dos Anjos, Grant, Lawlor, and the first few minutes of the Pokrajac - Maldonado, none of the fights played out the way I had expected.
For example:
1. I thought Soto would utilize his wrestling early to try to ground Rivera's striking. Nope, after one succesful takedown and immediate standup by Rivera, he basically gave up trying to take the fight to the ground for the remainder of the fight.
2. Another non-existent/poor game plan executed by the Curran Clan. Jeff Curran does not attempt even one takedown in the first round. BTT he realizes he is getting absolutely destroyed in the standup, his leg is too shot to shoot for one.
3. See Post # 19. Was that really octagon jitters, or does that show us that Levessuer's fight IQ is virtually non-existent?
4. Dongi Yang - Did he think he was up 2-0 going into the 3rd? I know he tends to fade in the later rounds of the fight, but I am not sure that he even attempted 10 strikes in the last round.

5. Jeff Houghland. See my thoughs on Jeff Curran.
6. Dustin Poirer. I guess he really is not ready for primetime yet. I guess this is another example of how piss poor the depth is at 145, where basically anyone can beat anybody on any given night because everyone beside Aldo is beyond mediocre. I was on Chan Sung Jung when he beat Hominick. But I never imagined he would what he did last night to Poirer
