Menjivar via decision.....Easton has huge hands and could certainly end this via KO but Menjivar is much better fighter and more rounded. This one is pretty simple in my eyes.....If it ends early Easton probably wins if it goes to the judges Easton has no chance. Menjivar gets my money.
Mendes ..... we all know the McKenzie story about chokes...blah blah blah those were all against much more inexperienced grapplers and wrestlers. This is a HORRIBLE matchup for McKenzie and I give him just about no shot.
I will be playing Maia here very small play...not because I think he has an advantage in the fight but I see this as somewhat of a coin flip and the price on Maia is very good. He wins this fight 50% of the time IMO and getting + $$$ makes it a winning prop. That being said unless you are just playing for the action there are other better spots on this card for your $$$.
Cote.....nice value on another dog here IMO...Le hasnt exactly been fighting a ton last few years and Cote has a nice little win streak going. I am banking on Le focusing more on making movies these days than worrying about fighting career. Le is certainly better fighter from a talent perspective but Le is also 40 and I think Cote has what it takes to potentially pull this one out. Again will be small play for me but I am going to roll the dice.
I am playing this one with my heart not my head.....would love to see Tito go out with a W as he walks into HOF. My analysis says Forest wins this fight pretty easily and outpoints Tito, that being said my $$$ is going on Tito and hoping for the best. Either way I think this goes the distance and see some value in playing the over as opposed to a specific side.
HOPE EVERYONE HAS A PROFITABLE NIGHT !!!!!

Philippou all the way I think Fukuda is going to be willing to stand and trade with Philippou and that just isnt a good idea. I dont think this will last long and I expect Fukuda to get Ko'd early.
Only way Fukuda has much chance is to lay and pray and consistently take him down and win a boring decision.

I dont like the over play in Silva.....I think he ends this early. I do really like the Philippou play and will be on myself.......I only had time to post the main card fights tonight.

I just dont like the idea of taking the most dangerous and dominent fighter in MMA and pissing him off to no end. No one has ever seen an Anderson Silva like the one at weigh ins and that could be a very bad thing for Sonnen if Silva can control the clinch.

saying he will be fighting at close to 220 tomorrow.....that is a huge swingin weight for your body to carry cutting to 185 then back up 35 pounds......that could effect late rounds in fight also.

Good thoughts Refer. Though I won't be on it, I'll be somehow rooting for Sonnen to take Silva down, just for the ring commentary afterward, but I have to agree with your assessment.
I think the fight boils down to two things. No, TRT is not steroids - and there's even an allowance within the UFC standards of the Testosterone levels to be higher than "normal," but Chael's were ridiculously high. That being said, you have to think his effort in the fight was at the very least a little enhanced by it. Since his injury he beat up Brian Stann though that was not surprising given Stann's lack of a ground-game, and took a controversial decision versus Michael Bisping in which he was NOT dominanat at all. In their first fight, Silva looked sluggish - but I believe it was because up until that point, he had not been taking his opponents very seriously, and I doubt trained as much. The Silva camp played a rib injury, but upon rewatching that fight - it didn't look like Silva favored any side.
The other issue is since his "humiliating" win vs Sonnen where he was getting dismantled, injury or bad training or not, Silva has whooped some ass, and in his typical no-nonsense approach. The Silva/Belfort fight in Brazil was supposed to be the second coming of Ali/Frazier only more celebrated because it was in their own country, but Silva made quick work as we saw. I believe Anderson is pissed off, I believe he believes and means all of the talk on the pre-fight media call earlier last week, and I believe he'll make quick work of Sonnen.
However, that being said, I beileve if Silva beats Sonnen, he retires soon. There's not many fighters other than Bisping and maybe Boetsch that I think have a moderate chance at beating him. If that's the case, look for Chael to rise again to the top (and no, I don't believe Chael will retire if he loses despite what he says).
Good luck REFER on your pick, I may just have to lay some big wood on it too.

Mendes is like -600 or something crazy, isn't he? I cannot see laying much wood there unless you want to put him in a parlay. I really like Phillipou - he has dominated vs McGee, Hamman, Rivera, though Fukuda looked well vs Cantwell.
Can't bet Cote on his third stint in the UFC. Boy does the UFC want Cung Le to win though, as he's definitely a marketable fighter, especially in their California cards... and he's fun to watch, but I don't know if Cote really has it in him to KO Le. I will probably be on Le vs Cote on short notice.

Couple thoughts on the Griffin/Ortiz fight: I know Tito has made this his swan song, but I bet Griffin retires after this fight as well. The line is purely on Griffin's name here, but he hasn't looked good at all. Got crushed in Brazil because his wife was in labor and didn't really want to be there, then before he beat up on Rich Franklin in a closer than expected affair. Both of these guys will want to put on a show. Expect Griffin to swing for the fences and Tito to try for the takedown. My guess is this is not going the distance at all.

Bisping & Boetsch combined "might" have a chance. Where exactly do you see Bisping giving Spider problems? And why would Boetsch have more of a shot than Sonnen?? Sure he fought at 205 and he has a cooler nickname, and he carries better power, but I see him as less busy and less talented/more plodding than Sonnen. I see "highlight reel ko" on his balding pate.

thanks all appreciate the comments and thoughts on the fights.....let's discuss TRT though for a minute......for an MMA fighter TRT works exactly the same as a steriod and thus the reason it is banned. It does not increase muscle mass the way a typical steriod is thought of but it is designed to significantly reduce recovery time between training sessions and have the same overall impact on your body as a steriod in that sense. Sonnen's levels were off the charts high (heck look at other fighters that were banned for life) for having similar levels. One would have to ask themselves if it werent for this rematch would Sonnens outcome have been same? Bottom line the TRT wasnt designed to increase mass and size but was being used at ridiculous levels for the same steriod side effect. I would also wonder assuming Sonnes isnt on right now if that had an impact on his training sessions and impacted weight cut given his need to cut so fast this fight. Should be interesting night with many side stories.

Not familiar with that at all.......there are set levels you can be at up until a certain point before the fight then you must back down the filing only allows you up until 90 days I think prior to fight........he never stopped taking after the 90 days and that is where issue was. I think the paperwork only covered the earlier period and I am not sure that was real issue after he failed the drug test. My knowledge on this issue isnt the greatest but they dont suspend you for a long period of time if it was simply a filing issue. He also "lied" under oath in his testimony that the commission had approved the use, commissioner said conversation never took place sonnen then blamed his manager for misquoting him and fired him. I think alot of what happened wsa that his legal issues with fraud got more attention at that time then the TRT use did either way was something he was "idefinetly suspended" for

I am going to start by making this real simple........Silva will be my biggest bet ever in the UFC and easily my play of the year.
A focused Anderson Silva is the best there has even been in the UFC and Sonnen has ran his mouth into a complete and total ass beating Saturday night. I have spent a significant amount of time around Chael and have seen this act many times......he has gone way to far running his mouth to avoid the talk of his criminal convictions and steriod issues over the past 2 years. Anderson had it right when he called him a criminal that should still be behind bars. This is going to be an exact replay of the GSP / Matt Serra rematch when the unmotivated champion took a beating the first time around but when focused it was a completly different story. Shame on Anderson Silva for underestimating Chael the first time around, that certainly wont be the case this time and that is going to be very unfortunate for Chael. Will be back later tonight / AM with write ups for rest of card.
Good luck to all and take it to the man........
hopefully this clown get's submitted or knocked out in the first round, in stunning fashion. i would love it.
