Costa's take down defense is excellent. Any average wrestler will not take Costa down. He strikes well off of his take down defense, thus causing a lot of people problems (see the Court Mcgee fight). Fukuda's wrestling is on another level though; that along with his size will help him get Costa down. That being said, having Weidman, and Nick Serra to work with certainly helps.
His skills on the ground leave a lot to be desired. Ive only rolled with him twice, and his strength is his saving grace. He powers out of a lot of submissions which for him is quite effective. He just doesnt focus on the ground game enough. He likes his boxing (head boxing coach at the gym), and his weights. To be a complete fighter (in my humble opinion) you cant focus solely on your strengths, you have to improve on your weaknesses too.
Tomorrow is the true test for where he'll go in his career.
He struggled against Nick Catone's wrestling which while it is no joke, but Fukuda's is much better. I have a feeling Costa will play the same role as a Dan Hardy, or Lavar Johnson in the UFC, in that if the UFC throws him in with a striker he'll shine, but a good wrestler, he'll struggle. We like to think of Costa as a JDS type fighter in the gym. We have to see how prolific that is.
He's a great guy, and fun to watch. I just think Fukuda will get it done tomorrow.
GL sawman.

Anyone who trains at a camp and then "gives away" the kind of information that Parlay has is either :
A) The worst team-mate known to man B) a fucking liar c) Trollin'
He had me at first but I wouldn't tail any of this guys info if I were you.
You can cancel out A, because he was dead wrong. Not only in his assessment of his "teammates" and their upcoming matchups. But because of his knee sleeve statement being completely false.
I've been around this MMA forum enough to figure out who the good guys are win or lose. And they post a majority of the events. He got fucking buried in February, tried to hide it by not posting, and then made up that bullshit story.
Not only that, he lied about his fucking record. What more do people need?
Either way, you are definitely correct.
