these changes have been going on for a long while now! very good video for sure
this comes from a mid 90s to early 2000s visitor, so what I see happening now has to at some point to turn for us old Vegas players to return
the nickel and dime squeeze has played its last peso. the mob ran it best while they skimmed the til, cheap rooms, good food for cheap, get em in the door.
Caeser's used to offer $50 eat all day, Rio had the seafood buffet, Binions had the steak.... the Cal had the best off menu steak special.
now its a $10 pizza slice at NYNY and a $7 soda. the pizza sucks btw. you can still get $3 ritas and $5 crowns but you have to look hard.
slots are tight, payouts suck. Wynn is the only one not in red right now.
basically Vegas just gave up when you could just pick up your phone and bet more props then ever on the board in any book
they just gave up, and it sucks for us old Vegas crowd. South Point is the joint if you want to feel the old Vegas comps, 3/2 true odds. but its not close to anything
I remember playing 100x craps at circus circus on a mid week afternoon on a half table with $1 ritas. people say go downtown to freemont for better odds, maybe you find a double deck at cortez or the Cal but if you range your bets 1 to 3 to 4 to 1 you will be tossed.
We were blessed to play in Vegas in this time frame up until 2011-ish. but after covid the place went to shit, no comps all strip properties owned by corps who look at a bottom line figure and made the adult Disneyland an unattractive destination
how can anyone play in the WSOP anymore with these room prices? every weekend its triple the room rate so starting on the ground floor you are F'd 8 ways to sunday
