i'm talking about a forum that deals exclusively with trading based on analyzing the charts. for instance, if i want to discuss some stocks and what i think the charts show, is there a good website or forum that focuses on that kind of analysis? i'm not really interested in dsicussing fundamentals or other aspects of a stock or futures market.

You know I would suggest finding a site that specializes in technical analysis and might charge for the forum/membership.
I dont know of hardly any freebie sites that people care enough and know enough to really learn from.
I am considering joining Trending 123, they seem quite sharp and lots of tools.
Back when I was more active in discussion boards, a place like Silicon Investor was awesome..totally awesome. After the market shake out, most places really started sucking..Silicon Investor included..but I am a lifetime member there so I still go from time to time..

have you heard anything about marketclub.com? it looks like the site suggests certain charts that are about to trend up or down and lets you filter through other charts based on different prameters. i don't see a forum though. it would be nice to find a site where different people can suggest or look at a chart and give opinions about what they think it shows.

Then check out a few places, some will offer free forums or free short term memberships.
I liked the Trending 123 because of all the searches you can do..much more than I can find elsewhere.
What I would look for in a site is one that has a good membership base, a free trial membership (or a guarantee) has a way of doing lots of technical searches, hopefully which have been setup by the site already..and a place that people go to for the purpose of professionally discussing such topics.
I really feel you get what you pay for..people who want to make money arent afraid to spend money to educate and associate. I paid for Silicon Investor 10 yrs ago and it was a bargain then, but since then it is a free site and the quality is nowhere near what it was prior.
Same goes for ragingbull, investorhub, yahoo or msn boards..finding great info takes too much time there and time is money.......
