5/1 on the tote.  recency (fitness), breeding, trainer.  rookie taking a shot at some modest fellas and one other new face.  looks fit and eady. 

santa anita

7/2 not bad in small field

i like catching a field where the favs are not legit in my view and bet based on back class, trainer angles, jocks, and when they show they run evenl;y late like that 8 in this race.  that 2 had a very solid sequence of drills and looked ready to rock.

5/1 on the tote.  pace, distance, stamina.  not convinced the chalkie 6 and 3 will bring an overwhelming late punch to this fight.  maybe 6 can set a modest clip or sit just off of it and put in a solid effort the whole way.  don't think we've seen the best this gal has to offer yet.

two overbet favs that run evenly late and also were questionable to have the gas in the tank late.

the last race for the 2 was on turf which wasn't that big a deal to me.  she ran 8th and that is prolly why she was the second longest shot on the board.  notice she only lost by two and change lengths and the comments were "stalked rail, got thru".  she wanted to keep going.  race before at 8.5 furlongs she powered home so today's distance not a bad fit.

6/1 on the tote.  pattern, late speed, stamina.  like the improvement going long on the green.  2nd off the pine.  chalk could be a toughie here but maybe not unstoppable at this distance.  turf rated good another issue to deal with

5/1 on the tote.  extremely iffy chalkie if you ask me.  late speed, pattern.

note:  two main concerns the skipper is 0/21 off a 60-180 day stint on the pine and two spaces of about two weeks between drills.  otherwise woulda kinda liked this one a bit. 

Sa 4th at 6/1.  chalkie took it.

gulf 4th at 9/2.  chalk got beat but bonehead move by Lopez trying to fight to get up on the pace with this 4 should have let him relax and try to make a run. 

time to regroup.  good day going i am going to review some things here for a little bit.

need to do much better at GP.  another day.

9/1 on the board.  pattern, late speed.  very modest group with limited late punch i am taking a shot this guy was rolling home in the debut looked like he was just getting warmed up.

SA nope.

K ya I know horse came from nowhere but also shows you how weak and modest the rest of them are.  gomez had ten lengths to make up in less than a furlong he figured why not try

6/1 on the board.  pattern, stamina, pace.  i'll take a shot against this big chalkie. his stiff has improved quite a bit going further and he definitely perked up when raffy jumped on him.  worth a shot for me.
