Baseball.&#xD;&#xA;Top 9, tie ballgame. I`m in center field. lights out closer is in for our All King County Washington championship.. sure win.. 2 outs, man on 1st. an 2nd. I ignore the coach and move up 20 feet behind 2nd base to play any grounder an hold the runners in case.&#xD;&#xA;Sure enough the ball is hit my direction and panic sets in. I promptly Buckner the fuckin baseball and it rolls all the way to the center field fence and 3 runs score. We lose and nobody has a word to say to me for a week.&#xD;&#xA;Last game I ever played until college 2 years later.&#xD;&#xA;&#xD;&#xA;Snow skiing..slalom event.&#xD;&#xA;One on one gates, all clock. 20 yards ahead of the guy next to me. Breezing to the semis for the easy win. Arrive at the finish line, look up at the clock, admire my glorious time and wonder why the crowd isn`t jumping up and down. &#xD;&#xA;Judge walks up to me and says you missed 3 gates..... you`re eliminated. Opponent sails by a full 30 seconds later with his arms in the air.&#xD;&#xA;Started making excuses about the course and then quit.

It was pitcher catcher week.   I was a sophomore and I was coming off an outstanding freshman season as a pitcher.  I threw gas.   I walked in to pitcher catcher week out of shape and not knowing how to throw a curve ball because my brother told me I should wait to develop it because I might hurt my arm blah blah blah.  I shouldn&#x27;t have listened.  After riding the bike and doing sprints and all kinds of physical drills, I took the mound inside the gym.  Everyone was watching.  I was nervous and new to throwing curve balls. My legs were like jello since I was out of shape.  I was told to throw a curve ball and the ball sailed up into the balcony of the gym about 20 feet over where it was supposed to go.   Everyone started laughing.  At the end of that day we all sat down and the coach made a joke.  He said something like "well Cap,  that pitch you threw on the balcony kind of reminded me of the bloopers where the pitcher throws the ball in the stands."

Also one day my friends all got high before a game.  I knew I wasn&#x27;t going to pitch.  So I played left field.  I made 3 errors in the first few innings.  Couldn&#x27;t track down a few routine pop ups. I pulled myself out of the game and told the coach I wasn&#x27;t feeling good.  My friend who smoked with me threw a 1 hitter and hit a homerun.

football...I am playing CB and our team gives up a TD after being up 42-0... I walk off the field thinking that they are going for the PAT and instead they went for two just to practice it in the game...So the WR on my side is wide open and the MLB who is the defensive captain realizes this right away and runs out to the cover the WR on my side as the coaches are screaming that we only have 10 on the field...  I run out there and have to play LB when it is painfully obvious that I had the size/stature of a DB...  The other team pics up on this and audible a run to my side and I basically get plowed over by two OL and the RB walking over me...really embarrassing because of me absentmindedness. but to this day i still think the coaches should have called TO, but with the score so lopsided I dont think they care at that point...

One time in hockey when I was a little younger I called called up to this horrid rep team to play goalie. I was standing on my head keeping them in it for a few games. We go out to this exhibition game against a much larger older team fro some reason. Well there running us through the boards and it's about 7-3 with a few left in the second.

They killing a penalty and this big defenseman slaps the puck out of the zone from behind his own icing line. So I kneel down to play it glove by the stick all that good goalie stuff and the puck whips up at the last second and blows by me in the net. Seemed like the whole town showed up going nuts and their bench was practically throwing garbage at me it was just awful. They injured about 3 of our guys that clock couldn't of ran out fast enough for us.

I was playing in Babe Ruth, playoff game...
We were down 1 run bottom 6th with 2 outs, I am on 2nd base.
I know the rules, do not attempt to steal 3rd unless the ball goes thru the catchers legs.
The pitch was thrown, the catcher dropped the ball, I thought it rolled behind him, no clue what I seen, but just dropped in front of him, I take off to 3rd, he throws me out by a mile. That walk to the dugout may been the worst walk of my life. needless to say we do not score in the 7th and we lose.

I Buckner&#x27;d a ball at first base in a similar situation, search. It was so bad that it drained my joy of the game for many, many years. I switched my focus to basketball instead almost as a direct result of that.

Was young about 14 at the time and was playing D before switching to O next season, anyhow was in a tournament and I was last man back with the puck, over time, coughed up the puck and guy went in on a breakaway and scored, oh fuck never been so pissed off, let down all the guys. damn haha, minor league sports = great times

high school hockey vs best team on long island. I took pot brownies that afternoon thinking it would be out of my system. I was wrong. We lost 15-1 and I was lying on the ice for most of the game floundering around.

Another time we got in a brawl with some shit team and a dad jumped on the ice and started strangling a guy on my line. Shit was all over the news haha.

It was just middle school football, but man did the embarrassment stay with me for me for years. I was playing quarterback in the first game of the year behind the worst offensive line imaginable. After getting sacked several times and our running backs getting thrown for losses, our opponents' defense figured out that they could run right through our offensive line. The infamous play was brought in and it was a simple "32 dive". As I called the play and walked up to our marshmellow line I remember hearing the cheerleaders yelling, "Henry, Henry, he's our man, if he can't do it nobody can!!" I handled the snap cleanly and as I turned to hand the ball off to the fullback I got hit by the center being pushed back and at the same time their middle linebacker was blowing through the 2 hole. I've got the ball out there for the fullback, but the linebacker beat him to it. Next thing I know I am on the ground under the pile. I hear the crowd going crazy and the announcer yelling "Touchdown!!" over the PA. The middle linebacker had grabbed the ball out of my hands before the fullback could and ran for a touchdown the other way. I had handed the ball off to the wrong team for a touchdown. It still hurts.

this was just in practice but during an intense scrimmage my senior year I stole the ball on the inbounds pass and for whatever reason decided to take it the other way and lay it up on our own basket. I was jogging down to play defense when I look up and everyone is bursting out laughing. Not my best moment

I played Quarter back for middle school team and we beat the shit outta almost every one. We ran the option so it was more important to be able to make good reads than to be quick. The only game we lost was against Sherman (Far North Texas). They literally drove up in cars in 8th grade. I had thrown 2 prior passes that year An 80 yard TD and a pick 6. Coach calls a little option pass to the HB opposite the way the option appeared to be going. I turned back to throw and and there stands a 6&#x27;2 230 pound line man. He Batted ball right back to me, I caught it, and then planted me in the ground. It was muddy and they literally had to call the coaches out to get me unstuck. So embarrassing. Literally had to be hosed down and borrow a helmet and shoes for rest of the game

Well I have many, but I will never forget the time my coach made me cry when I was pitching for my little league team. I couldn't throw a strike to save my life. It got so bad I was one hopping every pitch to the catcher so he calls timeout to try to change my rhythm. I remember him yelling (he didn't even come to the mound, he just screamed from the dugout) "take a deep breath, I want you to breathe slowly, I want you to ..." thatz when it happened ... the p*ssy in me came out and I started crying like a baby. I was and still am embarrassed to say the least. What made it worse was that I actually made the all star team that year as a shortstop, but I almost didn't make it cause I cried like a girl that one game. Oh, man, I cringe at the thought of the coach telling my parents what a p*ss of son they had (eh hum ... have).

Happens to the best of us as kids.&#xD;&#xA;Had a quarterback that I played for at tailback from pee wee all the way up to AAA Highschool Washington state championship. His dad used to yell at him like a dickhead from the sidelines - constantly. We would huddle up after a busted play and he`d  cry and call the play simultaneously. I never could remember the damn count bacause I was always trying to calm him down before the snap.&#xD;&#xA;Dude was a great guy and pinpoint with his delivery. Went to Harvard full ride and started Qb there.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Nice handoff Henry.&#xD;&#xA;Bottom of the pile....touchdown!

My dad was the coach.Bottom 6th and i was called in relief for dave martinez (bench coach for rays). as i recall there was 1 out and runners on 2nd and 3rd and we were up by 2 runs. i walked the first 2 batters which walked in the tying run. then it happened. wild pitch and we lose.&#xD;&#xA;i was so upset i took the ball from the catcher and threw it as hard as i could at the ground and started screaming like a baby. it was a night game and there were alot pf parents there. the whole crowd was silent and all you could here was me acting like a fucking baby. &#xD;&#xA;i was&#x27;nt embarrasssed but i can never get back or change the way i made my dad feel. i eventually apologized to him years later.still bothers me today and everytime i watched martinez play as a major leaguer and watch the rays play, i remember that night.

junior year, id been able to dunk for about 2 weeks. dunked i my socks in front of about 30 people (5 smokin hot girls) my feet didnt slow me down one bit on the way down. hit the ground like a sack of rocks... right around the same time i dunked in a pickup game, my momentum swung my midsection up to the backboard, lost my grip, fell flat on my back. another time same group of people maybe a week later, went for an alley oop, missed it off the rim, but i was completely horizontal, this time my arms swung me into the side of the backboard, lost my grip, landed in the second row of the bleachers...

if you ask me the second 2 arent embarrassing and are pretty fearless manuevers on my part, but i guess once you get a reputation for crash landing people are still gonna laugh.

Great threadIntramural softball, around 8th grade, I was playing 2B and lost a popup in the sun.    It hit me on the top of the head and bounced so high that a teammate almost caught it before it hit the ground.  Everyone laughed at me for weeks after that.Also when I was older playing in Pony League I wasn&#x27;t good enough to be a starter.   One game I finally got in, coach stuck me out in right field in late innings.    Bases loaded, 2 outs, and the ball was hit in my direction..      I ran so slowly that it got past me.   (I have big legs, sort of built like Gumby, and don&#x27;t run very well.)    Anyway it should&#x27;ve been a single, but the guy was circling the bases, going for home.    One good thing is I had a great arm, so I fired a long laser throw to the cutoff man, and he was able to throw him out at the plate..Inning over, and I still remember jogging back in, seeing people in the stands looking at me as if I was one of those "special needs" kids, because of the way I run     Being laughed at is not good, but being pitied is much much worse.
