Worst football color commentators on TV

Having to listen to these guys ruins the game....

Rich Gannon-  Really brings nothing informative to the game.  Every time he says "OWWfense" I cringe.

Steve Tasker-  Read the rulebook buddy.  During yesterday's game he sang the praises of Marvin Lewis challenging the spot of Andy Dalton's scramble.  Problem being that there was only 45 seconds left in the game and the review came from the booth.

Troy Aikman-  Too many hits to the head lead to babbling and confusion.  And can someone tell Fox that there are other teams in the NFC other than those in the East?

Jon Gruden-  I really believe that his rambling and love for every single player he talks about may (if not already) cost him a coaching job.  If you drink a shot for every time he says "This (insert player name) is a beast or stud" you would be hammered by the end of the 1st quarter.  And his QB Camp segments on ESPN are awful.

And my personal 2 worst color guys....

Matt Millen-  For over 15 years now this guy has lived up the stereotype of dumb ex-jock.  How this guy ever got on TV is amazing.  Then he somehow gets a GM job and destroys a franchise only to have NBC bring him back as an analyst for the playoffs.  After that ESPN puts him on college football.  The man can barely make a sentence let alone bring anything credible to a game.

And how could I leave off....

Charles Davis-  The brighest smile on TV with the voice that sounds like nails on a chalkboard.  If ever a person could getter dumber by listening to someone talk, this is the man capable of making it happen.  Somehow this guy finds his way into my living room every weekend now on FX along with Gus Johnson (Poor Gus...he should have never left CBS).  Davis is completely oblivious of most things during a game like down and distance, time left, rules, score...you know, the small details.  He nearly single-handidly ruined FOX's BCS games and is currently making FX's coverage unwatchable.

I know I missed some but these are the ones who irritate the hell out of me. 

Matt Millen-TV couldn't get Millen on fast enough, for some reason. Can you believe how well the Lions are doing? Amazing, isn't it?

Out here on the West Coast for Niner games, we used to get the A-List announcers (Madden and Summerall), now we get F-Troop (google that one, kiddies), and the one we get most often is some douch named Soloman Wilcot. Man, this guy makes me grab the mute button he is so stupid. He must have pictures of somebody with a donkey, because there is no fucking way he passed an audition. No way. When he's not stepping on his partner verbally, he is a master of the obvious................

"These penalties are starting to mount up.........."

Well, it's pretty hard for them to mount DOWN, now, isn't it, Sparky?

Troy Aikman is actually one of the few I can tolerate.  Of course it helps that he is almost always paired up with that moron Joe Buck.

Worst is Dan Ryan and not to be outdone by Brian Baldinger... Millen sucks too.

Hawk-Solomon Wilcots used to do pretty much every Browns game with Ian Eagle (CBS's D crew at best).  He was highly annoying... I think he played DB for the Bengals.  He never got any players names right.   

StraightShooter- I think Jack Buck spins in his grave every time his son opens his mouth.  I'm dreading having to watch the World Series.  Hopefully the Fox contract with MLB is up soon.

How is Joe Thiessman not on your list?  The guy is horrible.

Joe Buck said a few years ago that he hates baseball and he only watches it when he calls a game.

So who does fox pick to call the All Star game and the World Series?  Yup, a guy that says he hates the sport.

Pathetic.

I would love it if the ghost of Jack Buck appeared in the middle of a broadcast, and he goes "I don't believe what I just HEARD!"

Then, and only then, Joe Buck somehow channels his Father, and broadcasts like his Dad.

Tim McCarver has a heart attack, and falls through the broadcast window to his death................landing on top of a Bud vendor..............

The vikings had this guy named MIKE MAYOCK do preseason games, he was the best i've ever heard BY FAR.

Hopefully it would be massive and sudden, otherwise he'd spend the next 20 minutes describing the symptoms

"Well Joe, it seems to me that the pains in my chest are increasing and I'm losing feeling in my arm.  This reminds of the time...."

Speaking of that game, did you here Aikman say, and I quote..

The Lion`s defense is typically not real concerned about giving up yards, they`re more concerned about giving up points.

Mayock does Notre Dame games on NBC............also on the NFL Network. I like Mayock as well.

I cant fucking stand Randy Cross and Matt Millen, actually really like Aikman though.

Where has Gus Johnson been? I don't care what anybody says - if he can make a Western Kentucky Tech basketball game exciting, I'll watch/listen to him call any game.
