I can't tell you how many times I've been there or have witnessed others trying to 'round off' their winnings, going for 2 grand, so they can brag about doubling their/my money. Pretty soon you start chasing, and all of a sudden, you're down to $1500. You still made 500 bucks, BUT YOU COULD HAVE HAD 900!

I don't care what amount you gamble, if you've already doubled your money, don't try and chase for 3x/4x/10x, whatever.........

    Stay smart, play sober, win................

Great advice for me, except for the "stay sober" part.  I have less inhibition to make a larger bet when I am drunk, but am always cognizant of how much I am up.  Even if I am sloppy drunk, I quit when I double my money and head to the deli.

One of the best times to go is during NFL season. most poker rooms have sunday ticket. its a lot easier to be patient when you can watch every football game while you play.

I think there is a difference between doing some gambling while drinking...

and trying to do some drinking while gambling...

the first is a good idea, the second is not...

but if you do the two enough together always there is no difference

I think in casino gambling being able to know when to take a break and when to quit is as important as anything else...

stay long enough and the odds that are with the house will get you...

Play min bet at table and MAX out on Odds. It's the best odds in the casino

You don't have to be RainMan to increase you odds at the table. Counting every card, dividing the remaining by the number of decks, etc., will drive you crazy. Some people can do this, I cannot. Also, even if you do count every card, you can't get caught doing it, which is another hurdle.

I use a system that counts only the smaller cards. I only play double deck (lots of places only pay out 6-5 on bj, which you should never play). The reason I play doubles is they'll at least deal out one deck. Lots of single deck places shuffle up after dealing out half the deck!

You can PM me and I can go into more detail.

Make sure you are ready to play. Don't go play after watching games in the sports book and had 12 complimentary beers. There's a reason they give them to you. Play sober. Play alert. I pop a 5-hour energy before sitting down.

If you're with a group of people that includes the ladies, sit down at a roulette table, play small, and you should be able to last as long as the women want. They'll occasionally win, think they're a better gambler than you, and may be more "appreciative" later on in the night

    Hope this helps.

Let it ride may be fun but you might as well take out $100 bill and cash it and give $8 dollars to the house every hand. TERRIBLE ODDS. But accventures I agree it's kinda fun. I only play when I'm with Wifey as she likes this and of course Roulette cause for some reason ALL WOMEN LIKE ROULETTE.

dl36, I used to have a money management system which, like all systems, worked sometimes and did not work sometimes.  Now, when I go I just play the line, take the odds and double up after two straight wins. Sometimes I place the 6 and 8 and take them down after a hit.  It is a fun game.

I play the same game all the time - double double bonus poker. I make sure I find the machines with the best odds for the lower hands (the larger hands all pay the same amount). I prefer this game because even if I don't hit the royal flush jackpot of $4,000
I can still have a winning session by hitting the smaller four of a kinds with the higher payouts. You need a big enough bankroll to cover your session, and you need to learn perfect strategy. (at leat near perfect) The return can be over 100% if done correctly, and like I said earlier the comps add a lot of value as well.

I watched somebody play double double for years and played it a lot myself. I've never seen, while watching her play, a royal flush come up and I've never seen a straight flush.

I went out to Vegas and started playing deuces wild, hit all my regular Royal Flush's on it and many 4 deuces.

It was really fun when I was playing a 100 hand game and they dealt me 4 deuces and the machine had the ace kicker as the bonus option, I knew it was going to be cute after holding all the deuces and watch and see how many aces they were going to add to my bankroll !

I like roulette even though house has a nice margin for profit and baccarat is very easy to play and can be very profitable.
