I think "widowmaker"? Sometime trees look healthy on oustide but 25ft up trunk is rottted, infestation or whatever. Thankfully never had a tree fall where I hadn't intended.
Goose, different times for sure, These days I suspect a person would need 8 weeks training minimum to do that job.. The rocking back and forth was not good, got a pretty good scuff mark in chin, no stitches.

I think a widowmaker is a tree which fell or snapped in the wind but was still standing by leaning on another tree. I would never go near them. Had 1 in my yard for 2 years and finally paid someone to take it down.

I worked in the woodson and off since I was 5 measuring logs for.my Dad. I work as a lead carpenter now.

Sweet shirt. Yeah a lot of cool phrases about that industry. I mostly field weld but I erect sometimes. Hence all the erection jokes I crack in the forums.

Yeah in my late teens. Walk 2 bags for 5 hours for miles. Could never do 2 a day. Took my shoulders sometime to get used to the straps. Best day was 3 guys with 1 cart with 2 guysain it and me walking with the 3rd guy and his bag. At the 3red hole they asked if I would drive the cart with all 3 bags and follow them. Best day of caddieing ever. Good luck
