Premise: The police keep us safe.
Reality: 99.9% of the time the police show up AFTER the fact and clean things up. 
This guy was being ASSAULTED. How could he know whether one of them had a gun or knife? Would have been ideal to pull the gun and hopefully have them throw their hands up? Maybe. But this guy had to make a split second decision.
This type of story will deter a potential robber WAY more than the police ever would.

He talks alot, but doesn't really address the key points. Then, when you have him against the ropes, he starts name calling and making derrogatory comments. Tries to goad people into his craziness, but not me.
I doubt even he would try to defned these low-life hoods in this situation. But, you never know..
