U dont tip the damn plumber, Thats why u get a couple bids from a cpl dif contractors and they make enough off the bid....
I once got my truck stuck in the parking lot of a liquor store. It was snowing and I tried to take a short cut and ended up in the ditch. My truck was basically facing up and down and resting on it's frame (it was a 4 WD Ford Ranger). I thought I was absolutely screwed. I walked over to the gas station and the two truck guy was just leaving. I begged him to stay and help me. He did and he got my truck out without any damage. I was impressed. It cost me a lot of money for a half hour of work, but you're damn right I bought him a case of beer from that liquor store.
Didn't feel like I had to. Just wanted to because I was grateful.
I had a tile guy do my backsplash a few years back. It was like $600. I didn't tip him.
Depends on circumstances and personal preference if you ask me.

Plumbers are a pain in the ass but gotta take care of your subs one way or the other.
Like most "service" workers, all they want is an address and quick payment with minimal chit chat.
Give them that, and they are normally happy. If you provide hassles for them, then YES, give then round up.

My plumber is the absolute reverse........ he's all chit chatty..........
Fried is like........... "you have the address, just go there and fix it and send me a bill"....... And please let me get off the phone.
But if the bill comes in high........ plumber loses an account. The key is reliability tho.

But having to rip rock and redo shit and repaint is a hassle when a plumber installs shit backwards.......... Which they do a lot.

How do plumbers make these bonehead mistakes?
REALLY?..... How do they make these many mistakes?

First of all a shower stem (valve) can only go in one way . And why would you remove tile alls you have to do is remove the handle unscrew the stem or pop it out depends on which type it is then install the new one and put the handle on jobs done . ![]()

I have a Kohler one in our walk-in shower and I've replaced that. It couldn't be more simple. Just have to make sure you do a good caulking job once you put the face plate back on.
