The question religion can not answer - Evolution

Question

I have been watching some programs lately on Nova, PBS about evolution.

Back in the times of Darwin it was easy to shot him and his theories down when he said we descented from Apes.

Now with the advances of DNA and our knowledge of the human genom we can scientifically prove that we humans are 99% comparable with chimps and that we and all 4 and 2 legged animals descend from fish who walked up on land some 350 million years ago.

Now how do you then explain that god created when biology says it is not so.

So what we have here is that scientists finally proves that the bible and all religion is one big fraud.

If i had to stretch my imagination i might say that "a god" could create the first set of life on earth, a plankton or a cell in the ocean and then go from there.... but one thing is a fact, the bible, the koran, the tora are books filled with lies.

evolution is a 100% proven fact.  don&#x27;t start talking science with some of these folks.  it upsets them.  but much worse, it upsets their religion&#x27;s business model and money and power is what religion is all about.

ClubDirtThat is true... i just wonder what those people will use as an argument?That DNA is not credible?  In that case you they would have to be against DNA in the court systems, or to determine family relations and the like. I just think that it is stunning that science now can shed light on what particular dna switches and mechanisms that played crucial parts in us developing from frish to 4 legged creatures, to monkeys, and to human.For instance in the Nova program they show how humans and chimps almost have the same gene that controls the jaw. The only difference is that the version of the gene humans have is defect so that we can not bite together so hard. That in turn allows our brain to grow as the skull plates remain flexible. Our brains grow until we are 30, for chimps and another apes, their massive bite, does that their skull plates are not flexible, so their brain stops growing after 3-4 years.

The Vatican has even said Evolution is no longer a myth and is scientific fact.The human ear is eerily similar to the gills of a fish. Doubt many know this fact.

I do wonder though if the Vatican believes in evolution they should also change the bible. Because what the bible says is not consistent with what biology tells us.

Their explanation is that modern science didnt start till, whatever the year, thus there was not the information or data available when the bible was written.I guess they dont want to change the bible but acknowledge Evolution is fact.

Science is better at baffling the mind with bullshit than any extremist religion you will ever encounter.

Science has no use for God because his existence can't be proven, but are excited about the "very real" possibility of extraterrestrial life forms, which of course have no basis in fact either.

Well according to the Vatican&#x27;s thesis we should all still believe in the earth not being round.  Why?  Because there where no science back then to confirm it was round.What kind of crap argument is that Jpero. The Vatican is weak man...The real issue is of course that if they confirm that the bible is a useless outdated book with stories that are not true, it will crumble the foundation of their castle, their influence, their power ect.

Man did not fall down from the sky in the state we know him in today.Scientists believe life on earth started with micro organisms some 4 billion years ago. Most likely they lived in the oceans.Where did those micro organisms come from? Did the bible speak about creating other planets and the universe? I think not... it spoke about creating humans.. which is in fact a big fat lie.

That is my point in all of this. Religion is basicly based on a thesis that is wrong.

So lets say you had to write a bible anno 2010, then it would probably go something like this... first god created the universe, then planets and ...

But then again that leads up back to that all the meat in religion, the way to live, the commandments, the prayers ect all in all just are moral codes and ways to control the masses.

How can you live in 2010 and knowing what you know, still believe that the bibles written word is the holy truth.

Life is extremely complicated. There is no proof that mankind evolved from anything, and even if he did, how do we know that GOD was not behind the evolution of speices. There is no possible way that anything randomly evolves, it's just a too complicated process. Your hand, your eyes, your mouth, male and female, the sun..how can this just EVOLVE?

The evolution of man is a MIRACLE in itself, but the evolution of thousands of speices in a random fashion is simply impossible.

A) The bible tells that god created man like we know it now. Wrong
B) The bible also tells that god created different animals, and earth. Again wrong...

In fact by studying DNA in many different types of species we can see that life started in the ocean and then spread up on land and diversified from there.

You say there is no proof that man evolved from anything. WRONG ... SO WRONG.

In fact it is proven that man descend from apes, who again descend from fish. The genes we share prove it !!! It is biology my friend and it is inside us to prove it.

You ask how can your eyes, mouth, male, female evolve. It happends through gene mutations..

And even if we have to accept your statement that god plays a part in the process of evolution, but in fact did not create man... it leads to my other point, which is that the bible is bogus.

So by your own admission you do not believe in the bible?

[/Quote]99% of scientists do not agree with religions about creationism.The greatest thinkers and founders of our nation also said that religion does more harm than good and it would be best if religions were abolished.
