For a woman to live with a gambler it has to be daunting, and unless you want the same argument over and over you're better off rebuilding on a foundation of trust.  Got too prioritize what's right for your life, cheers for being adult.

I'm guessing you would walk away thinking you were the highest functioning individual in the room and kind of resenting the whole deal.

I don't see how they would teach you anything you don't already know.

Congrats on a good start, by the way.

    Thanks Hutch

Think you are right about GA. I know the nature of addiction, understand the psychological aspects to it, etc. etc.. I don't think I'd be learning anything new. My problem is bankroll management, and part of what I am trying to do by tracking plays without actually betting is to step out at the end of the year and look at whether or not I am up or down for the entire year. Assuming I am up, that should be good proof that chasing is not the correct strategy.

I'd say on the day I posted it that the odds were probably:

    Will make it 365: +220
    Won't make it 365: -245

That's just based on past behavior... but here we are, more than 25% of the way through and the positive juice is still very alive

Best of luck Kapono .I was/am in the same boat .I have given  it up and have been married for over 4 years. My son was born last year and my gambling debts just would never go down.I like yourself could not handle my bankroll mgmt and would just lose thousands and thousnds PER WEEK.Had to get street loans off of people I know in Philly and also tapped out my CCards with this shit. Its a game taht you can't win at longterm and I know that .Its nice to pick up some extra cash but at the sametime I realize losing thousands and winning a quarter of what I lose isn't going to work out.Keeping it from my wife was/is a big task too as I am sure she don't want to hear me crying over gambling debts. So I have only recently stopped from August but so far so good.BOL to you!

It's a trade-off, no doubt Longhorn. You definitely do not have as much individual or personal freedom, but on the flip side, you always got someone there to support you or take care of you if things go south.

So I have only recently stopped from August but so far so good.BOL to you!

I think you can win longterm, the difficult part is the discipline aspect. Luckily I never had to take out loans from shady characters, but I could easily see how things could get that way with chasing.

Good to know that there are others out there in the same situation though... lets me know I'm not the only one with these issues.

The dudes that gave me those loans are actually friends of mine taht charged me minimum interest which I was/am grateful too as I am still paying them off. My alternative was tapping my mutual fund and then my wife would have noticed and caused further problems. Yes I hate paying these weekly payments but man I feel so much better not losing another penny betting on games.I disagree with you in that I don't think you can win longterm as I don't know anyone that has or ha sthe discipline to make a play on a random basis and then take a knee.

I never had an addiction to it, but I realized with the juice it's tough to win. And bad beats just drove me crazy.

So now I just play contests. I think buy-in contests may have a good future.

I play the Carib Contest. $200 buy-in for a season's worth of action. $65,000 first prize. And you can win $5K weekly.

And another $50 buy-in contest on a Forum that has a $1,000 first prize.

And I play some free contests with decent prizes.

I do not miss the action of single games at all.

I had SD/KC over last night, and it should have gone over, but 7 FGs and a bad call here and there sunk it. I was pissed, but it's just one game in a contest. Move on to next week's slate of games. No chasing.

Money management  is tough for everyone, even non gamblers. Just you  look at was has happened with housing markets, people went over their heads, credit card debt, etc.

I've done the same thing with the carib contest, a bit over $10 a week and you get 10 games a week full of action,  an a idea of how skilled you are. Just unfortunate that the leaders are somehow hitting like 65%
