My understanding is that the computer does NOT know what the numbers to be drawn or computed will be next. The machine is constantly "reshuffling" combinations - to the second i believe. So if he did go before her he would have received a different set of numbers. Im quite certain thats the case.

Assuming this is true (sounds right) it still does not change the story matter. Him allowing her to go ahead still put her in the right spot at literally the right time (to the sec apparently). He may not of won but she also would not of won.

And I'd give that person a million regardless of how the whole thing works. She was a luck box and was in position because of the nice gesture from that other person.

Just to note, it was a 'her' who let the winning woman cut and the gesture lead to the exact moment the woman would ask for a quick pick and get the winning combination.
It could be argued it played a major role. But it also could be argued that she stared at a beef jerky label on the counter for an extra second which played on equally large role.
What bothers me is that this woman went out of her way to thank the other person.
You just won $370 million lump sum. Don't patronize someone with a thank you. Say nothing at all and if you do, at least give 25k/50k....anything! $500 even!
