Questions for all people who believe in god?

I'd say that was a pretty good write up.

There is a person of higher power. If it's God... then it's God. I think all of us to some extent have taken life for granted in many ways than one. Everyone wants more out of life... we really do need to appreciate what's already been given to us. If it wasn't for the Sun and Water... we'd all be dead. Period.

Someone had to create the Sun... and I'd say that would be one huge task that no human could ever create.

I think the convinction in your writing is amirable. I would love to see one theologion speak with such assuredness. You and all other likeminded smug know-it-all athiests must have a blast discussing your genious and laugh at all those trying to grasp at any metaphysical (non)reality. I wish I too could watch bill maher shoot fish in a barrel but unfortunately Im doing something better.

your scriptural knowledge is equally unimpressive and unfortunately you have lumped every denomination of Christianity as so many other bigots have done before to races. These days creed is however fair game for anyone to attack. The reality is that saying your beef is with Christianity incorrectly accuses ALL Christians of believing the same perposterous claim. Im guessing I could clear up quite a few beefs, so feel free to ask.

In regards to false 'prophets', let me clarify. Jesus warned against false prophets but nobody worshipped them. Some certainly would try to present themselves as gods but as far as I know, no specific one is mentioned in the new testament.

For these reasons I believe you are refering to false gods (not prophets). Here's the story (from the O.T). Toiling in the desert for enough yrs left person to try and start up some extra curricular activities. They began sinning more than usual, one of these sins was creating a false god outta gold or something. so, Moses climbs Mt Sinai, talks to God and delivers his message to the others. Needless to say they were pissed but followed suite given he freed them all from bondage in Egypt (they owed him bigtime). The message was the 10 commandments, #1 says only 1 God...no other gods.

Though I dont speak for every Christian, I can clarify the stance of the overwhelming majority of major denominations, and I believe even Judaism. People that dont accept God for decent enough reasons (ie living in China) are not guarenteed hell for this reason alone. People who lead a good life in as best as they can should go to heaven, but God never exactly gave admittance criteria in the Bible.

The Catholic stance was clarified in the Second Vatican Council, to try and clear up this misconception of the "CHRISTIAN" stance on other religions. I dont have time or space to explain it all but google or wikipedia Nostra Aetate and you should get a good handle on it.

In any case it seems the majority of you all have beefs with assumed stances and a lack of religious knowledge. This stuff isnt hard to find if you try and find it, and that would include not looking for answers to these questions in bill maher tv show or a Richard Dawkins book.

The Old Testament is not the word of God, that's the new Testament. You havent read anything Ive typed and clearly want to stay in a constant state of ignorance, just like the overwhelming MINORITY of Christian denominations that actually do date the earth to 6000 yrs.
