Men taking their wife's last name when they get married

I was on Facebook the other day and a guy I knew from high school recently got married. I was surprised when he used his wife last name instead of his own. At first i thought "what a tool" But i gave it some thought and even thoug I wouldnt change my last name to that of my spouse, I did think that it was a pretty bold move.

Depends... If I own real estate, have a business, wealth parents where an inheritance of stocks or property is involved... No.

If my new wife has real estate, a thriving business, or or other assets in her name and I do not, I would seriously consider taking her name.

My main cosideration would be who has assets in their name.

Second concern is the value of the name. If the name has value and will open doors I would not want to change it.

If all things are equal and there is no significance to the name... Why not take the wifes name?

But I think it is reasonable for the child or children of a couple to carry both surnames, if the couple agree to that.

There is something worse... making your child take a hyphenated last name.  Why anybody would do that to a kid is beyond me.

If you would even consider giving up your last name in order to take your wife's, you might as well just hack off your balls right now and hand them over to her.

After scalabrines long drawn out explanation , I can make it real simple for you guys . If you are taking your wifes last name , and you are from where I am from , you are considered a FUKIN PUNK!! plain and simple . Your friends will disown you , and never let you live it down . The object of the game is to keep the women down . Womens new objection is to marry rich and sit home . If you think different then you are living on Mars .. why is it the second question on a date is almost always , "What do you do ?" thats how they gauge what they are working with . When they see a new car , a boat , a house , and a guy is single , never been married , (means I am not paying another ex anything ) their eyes light up like christmas lights .. then the next question is always , " what are you looking for ." thats how I know what I am working with , I tell them I just like to see how it goes , then take it from there. i always get a call the next day after a first date .. I have no soul , I dont get that attached feeling for women anymore .. I dont think I ever will . In the last 3 months I have met or been with 8 women 3 I still keep around , the rest were looking for the free ride . if you can not see what they are trying to get out of you , then you should not be dating or getting married , you will be the divorced man over 40 sitting in a 1 bedroom apt. paying your ex , who is still dating and fucking some other man in the house you bought together , with your 2 kids sleeping in the room next to her .. and you only get to see them every other weekend .I have seen it way to many times . And everytime I laugh .. If you have a heart in this world you will be left behind like a sucker . you can be nice to women and people in general but when you let people in other than long time friends and family you have to be very careful . To make my point clear i am very confident and learned at a young age how this world works , ask my co workers how many texts i get a day from the girls I date , saying how much they enjoy my company , and how they cant wait to see me again .. ya right , they want a piece of that pie my friend .. And not once did anyone of these girls go into their pocket to get the check at dinner . I look at it like I am paying for the puntang , and just chalk it up to the game ,,, good luck to the wife last  name taker , he has a bright future ahead of him..
