Lance Armstrong will be stripped of seven Tour de France titles, given lifetime ban from Olympics as he drops appeal of doping charges

Disgraced cyclist will no longer fight charges he led sophisticated doping conspiracy, will not have to hear former teammates testify against him, but now leaves himself vulnerable

for the record, ClubDirtSports.com empathizes with lance in that we never fought allegations that we have been doping for many years and it enhanced our performance in certain areas unrelated to athletic endeavors.

What a stupid post. Out of the top 100 cyclists, 100 did PED's. It's one thing if he had an advantage, but he never did. It's not even a question of him beating people "on the straight" as cycling was the breeding grounds for groundbreaking dope.

Trust me, there wasn't somebody with superior talent that was slighted because every major team was doped to the gills in the 90's. In fact, any news here at all? Didn't think so..

Of course he had an advantage. He had better doctors.

It's not cheating though. Doping has been accepted in that sport for ..well since it began..
And it's still there to this day. The average speed is the same today as in the 90s where doping was rampant.
If it was slower then nobody would watch.

Just like to wish the new victors of the Tour de France...Alex Zülle, Jan Ullrich, Virenque, Rumsas...it feels good to have "clean" winners.

About time this cheater got busted.

He had another advanatge over other cyclists too, in that he only really raced the TDF and not other events.  (Cycling fans - correct me if am wrong there...)

It shows you how smart the cheaters are when Armstrong and Bonds never failed a test.

The Tour de France is a fucking joke...

Lance Armstrong can suck a dick. Stupid cheater finally getting what he deserves. Too bad they can't take away all the money he's made and donate it to people with cancer.

All the money he raised for cancer is likely just to ...
    1. make more money for himself and 2. improve his image.

This guy ranks right there with Joe Pa on the piece of shit index.

technology races to keep ahead of the cheats

samples are kept for many many years as new technology may reveal substance abuse that was not detectable at the time

several cyclists died of substance abuse

in the past EPO caused the death of many cyclists

Every consider the possibility it's a stacked deck against him?  Take a look at the incentive others are getting to testify against him.

I don't know if he cheated, but neither do you.

My question is:  He has still never tested positive for anything and the US doping agency is not disputing that so what are they basing things on?  The word of riders he beat?

Are you fucking serious?!?! You are comparing him to Joe Pa??? What Lance Armstrong did (or might have done) is microscopic compared to letting little boys get raped. You are ridiculous.

The whole damn steroid/HGH era has tainted all of sports to a depressing end. Throw in the "for the love of money" contracts nowadays, and it seemingly makes viewing sports less important as well.

ESPN and other media hype these type of stories to no end when they're winning, and then endlessly ram it down our throats when they fail.

Joe Pa is much worse I agree...

What I meant was that they were both total phonys and any accomplishments they attained mean nothing.

There is no might have done about it... He was doping the whole time. It's not debatable.

How can you strip a 7 time champion of something that has never been proven?

It's the USA, you know, where you are INNOCENT until proven GUILTY. He was never proven guilty, therefore he is innocent.

Maybe he is giving up on this fight because all odds are stacked against him, and it has completely taken over his life. He is at the point that he said fuck it, you have no proof, we both know you don't, so I'll stop fighting to prove something is false that doesn't even exist.

Hey Madden, show me some proof. And I don't mean what someone's grandma told their 5th cousin that was best friends with Sally who told Jimmy it was true. I want the US doping agency to come forward and say, yes, he has tested positive. But guess what, it won't happen because he hasn't.

Just put it this way. Think about if someone came to me and said that you killed someone, so in turn you get arrested for murder and go to jail for 25+ years. How is that in any way shape or form morally correct? Easy answer, it's not.

Innocent people give up the fight all the time.  It costs money.....stress......and IF it's a "he said, she said thing," there is nothing he can do about it.

If he is guilty (and he might be), show me the lab evidence.  This guy was in cycling when people were getting busted right and left. Yet he never failed a test.  If he's a cheater, show me the empircal evidence....not just some sour grapes from other riders.

So let me get this straight.

He doped in front of his teammates, which would be irresponsible & stupid, yet passed 500 drug tests?

Um, the likelihood of you passing hair, urine, and blood sampled drug tests 500 times if you're doping is absurdly small.

The proof will come out soon enough...

By not going through the whole process he can maintain his current stance that he was clean. Deny deny deny.

I can understand that I guess... He doesn't have many other options.

He has done a lot of good for a lot of people but I question if he's doing it with good intentions...If he shuts up about cycling and stays away from and focuses solely on working to help people with cancer he will earn my respect. Either way he's still a phony.

Do you honestly believe that his wasn't cheating? How about Barry Bonds? His head must have grown naturally...

    Madden,

Ryan Braun & Bartolo Colon tell us that looking at people is not a good way to guess if they are on PED's.
