Seriously???? ARE YOU THAT FUCKING STUPID?? You mean to tell me that former defensive coordinators at other schools around the country are founding children's charities for at risk kids and then sexually abusing them for years and schools are covering them up?? WHAT A FUCKING MORON YOU ARE.

I think Joe Pa should've been fired yesterday. I read the PDF of the indictment. It's disgusting.

No way this wasn't known. Sandusky seem to have kids with him all the time and more or less did this in the wide open. I believe no one wanted to be the whistle blower.

It's an extremely sad and disturbing story. If I'd seen this fuck laying the wood to a 10 year old boy. He wouldn't of did it again, I can assure you.

The arrogance of Paterno’s statement today was amazing.

"I am absolutely devastated by the developments in this case. I grieve for the children and their families, and I pray for their comfort and relief."

Praying for their comfort and relief wouldn’t be necessary (at least for some of them) if that old fuck had said something 10 years ago.

Some of the victims that have come forward were sexually abused AFTER Paterno was told of the shower incident.

Those are children and families that could have been spared going through hell if Paterno had acted like a god damn human being and done something more than simply cover his own ass by doing the absolute minimum required by law.

"I have come to work every day for the last 61 years with one clear goal in mind: To serve the best interests of this university and the young men who have been entrusted to my care. I have the same goal today.”

And that’s it in a nutshell.  The university and his guys are the only ones this worthless piece of shit cares about.  Protecting the good name (no longer) of his program was clearly more important to Paterno than protecting children from being sodomized and forced to perform oral sex on his longtime friend.

IMO, Paterno and everyone else who turned a blind eye to this sick fuck raping little boys deserves to share a jail cell with him.

I would like to know why The School Board is waiting till Friday to have a meeting. What could be more important then this? Please don't say they waiting to get all the facts, they have them. This is such a disgrace. The school is handling all this very poorly and it keeps getting worse.

I like how they keep on calling him "coach".  That old bastard hasn't put on a headset for the last 30 years.

so joe has spoke and says in hindsight i wish i did more.

he stood up for his wrong admitting that he should have done more.  he is deeply saddened by this and i am sure ashamed.  i wont forget nor will anyone but i will forgive him.

now it is clear with his admission and he has spoke, i agree he should leave which he was going to do anyway.  this was the first year i said he needs to go anyway before this, but because of his lack of involvement and the poor on field coaching that existed outside of tom bradley.

i look forward to my alma mater being able to turn the page and to start fresh and continue to build our excellent academic and athletic institution.  there are far more great people at that school instead of those who did wrong.

tom ridge, tony dungy would be a great start.

Would you still forgive him if it had been your son or brother that had been sodomized and forced by a pedophile to perform oral sex AFTER Paterno learned what was going on but decided to protect the good name of his program instead of protecting the children that his longtime friend was sexually abusing?

I just read the full Grand Jury report.  There were TONS of different people who should have been able to figure this out.  It boggles my mind at how many people dropped the ball.  Here Sandusky is dragging tons of different kids to a bunch of different ball games....then suddenly the kids don't want to be around him anymore.  HELLO PEOPLE!!!

And that one kid tells his mom about the shower incident, she confronts Sandusky, and he tells her what he did was wrong and he wanted to be dead.  That's not enough to peak your curiousity to the fact that this guy might be big time trouble?

    WTF is wrong with people.

Just read an interesting article on espn.com.  Talked about Paterno's age possibly being a factor in his decision to just tell his superior and not really follow up....saying that's how things were done in his day.  Obviously, things have changed in the last 40 years.

But it does make a good point that it certainly might have had something to do with how he handled it.....the generation he is from.  Doesn't excuse it, but certainly might help explain it.

Maybe he wanted not to believe that badly that something sinister was NOT going on that he sort of convinced himself.  Food for thought anyway.

At least the abused will have a huge financial compensation.

Penn St football program makes 50 mill profit a year.  If I am one of these  kids I am suing everyone involved.  Civil is always easier than criminal.

Yeah, Penn State is going to pony up big time, and surely more victims will come out of the woodwork.  Ran Second Mile since 1977, more than 30 years and access to hundred (thousands?) of kids, surely there are many more victims.  Unreal that it could go on for so long.

This is how a former (as of yesterday) Penn St. fan really feels: If Paterno and his person coward  coaches are allowed to coach on sat. I wish to God some big cornhusker player plows into them on the sidelines and breaks their coward backs and when en route to the hospital they are anally abused while they are awake and can't do a thing about it. Then take that bastard paterno and mcqueery and beat whatever life is left in their twisted bodies to near death. Only then will these two come close to feeling what those poor boys felt after they were abused. As for Sandusky ,there are a few alabama boys who can't wait to get him in the showers. Beat Ped.St. Go HUSKERS !!!!!!

shooter you are absolutely correct.what hasn't been mentioned is that joe paterno IS PENN STATE.nobody on that campus told him what to do.he had it covered up and should be ashamed to even show his face anywhere near that campus for the rest of his miserable life.if he has the balls to "coach"on saturday and the students and fans chear him that school should be closed down forever.as pacino said"they should put a flamethrower to that sinking rat ship".

The bottomline to all of this is that Joe Paterno ( a very overrated coach imo....who couldn't accumulate all of those wins in 46 years!! and he ONLY WON 2 national titles!!..lol) will be remembered NOT for what he did in and for happy valley, but for enabling and employing a SICK, EVIL, DEMENTED PEDOPHILE, the worst of all scum on planet earth, to run and roam free not only in his football program, but on the Penn State campus, doing his dastardely  deeds with Joe turning a blind eye, or even approving of what he was doing.. who knows, maybe JOE WAS INVOLVED TOO...

Recruitment is going to be a bitch.

I’m sure those 5 and 4 star recruits will be lining up to shower in the same showers where one of the biggest names in the history of Penn State football sodomized little boys and forced them to perform oral sex on him.
