Jewish diners attacked

Yeah, Giada's great but her show, assuming we're talking about Everyday Italian and not some new show, is a traditional cooking show. Traditional cooking shows are specifically there to teach people how to cook. A lot of the newer shows are competition shows (Top Chef)  and food tour shows (Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives). Those  shows are entertaining but few people are walking away from an episode of Top Chef and saying, "You know what, I think i'll make that." You for sure can pick things up but the classic cooking shows, from Julia Child, Martin Yan, Jacque Pepin to Emeril and Giada were specifically walking you through the preperation of a meal. I loved Alton Brown's good eats. Not so much a cooking show as it was a kind of food science show.

 Alton Brown is from another planet. Martin Yan, "Yan can cook," enjoyed watching him. I know how to cook, don't really need instructions as much as the different ideas I see. That's what I'm looking for.

That's what i'm kind of getting at. Those shows are fine for ideas if you already know how to cook but if you already know how to cook, part of the fun is just coming up with your own recipes. Getting in the kitchen an jamming a bit. I do most of the cooking too, not because I like doing it, but just because i'm so much better at it than the mrs. And personally, from a diet standpoint, I have fasting days. Days of calorie restriction. Days of carb restriction. I'm heavy into managing macros and such so when i'm sitting down to eat a meal with no caveats, I really want to enjoy it. Sometimes we cook together. I'm not with her for her cooking. I don't think i've ever even dated a really good cook. Marginally decent is all that matters to me. Being able to make the family meatloaf and taters

I cut it up and mix it into "healthy spread " for toast /bagels ...

My breath must stank 

I use a lot of garlic when cooking and make my own garlic butter. Everyone loves garlic bread so it's not really crazy.

And as predicted, no great surprise, anti semitic attacks are dramatically on the rise. It's a serious issue, strangely this thread took a major left turn, but these attacks will continue, and there will be greater violence, watch the synagogues!

Humans haven't evolved much over 2+ million years,  stil Raping , Murdering, oppressing each other ....

Hate is stronger than ever. It's never going away in our lifetime. Even when the country came together after 911, we found Muslims to hate. Covid came along and Asian Americans became a convenient target.

We can teach our children and grandchildren to love but who are we kidding? Their life experiences unfortunately will make a stronger impact on them than any words of wisdom we can provide.

They see the rich getting richer. The powerful escaping justice. The addicted and homeless aimlessly walking the streets and around their playgrounds. They see people begging for money on corners as their school buses pass them by only to see the same people on the same corners when returning from school 7 hours later. For them it's like Groundhog Day!

Who knows how many years we all have left? I want to believe it will be a better world after I'm gone than it is today. But I have serious doubts about that.

This simply isn't kosher. The joint doesn't sell blt. (Bacon. Lettuce tomatoe)
