This has to be the most asked question online from sports fans and handicappers, and one of the hardest to answer - because of what you're into, or what you perceive as "good."
My answer is: most all of them are good. All the major casinos have decent sportsbooks. To make it easier, I'll give you a list of some properties that have shittier sportsbooks. But of course, this is just my opinion, based on size, age, party atmosphere, etc.
Shitty books for hangin' out and partying:
Not that Leroy's joints are bad, they're great for getting a bet down, and usually have some decent numbers. The bigger books, (except the Hilton), are usually squarer joints, ie; laying an extra point or two consistantly on the key-gamed favorites.
The Plaza downtown has nickel lines all the time (-105), the Strat and Hard Rock have nickel line specials on Thursdays.
Your buddy from UNLV will probably have his favorite place, and you guys will probably hang out there. All this shit is just my opinion, other locals may agree or disagree.

great feedback. exactly what i was looking for!
I am actually staying at the sahara on wed and thurs, then moving hotels (not sure where yet). I got a 50 buck rate each night there, so its worth it. My buddy told me that you have to get there early to get a seat. Im a little confused on the set up, as Ive never really experience vegas like atmosphere at a live sports book (outside of this one place on the utah border, which really barely counts). Is it like nice lounge chairs etc, or is it more like a bunch of tv's against a wall and you sit on regular chairs?

As MWC said, most of the Leroys books are shitty, dont even bother.
Been in all the books in Vegas and imo.
The best sportsbook for seating and watching games is the Excalibur.
Dont forget to ask for your drinks tickets ![]()
