cocaine, like a lot of things, is no big deal in moderation but only a problem if you abuse it.

my opinion....who cares he's a good manager...some people can handle drugs and still contribute to society in a positve way..i seen it too much as a get older....You call these responsible drug users...then there are the pieces of shit who cant handle it and abuse the drug....i doubt mr washington is an abuser and if he is then hes a responsible one.

i remember doing blow this past summer on a sunday morning before b2b softball games....I jacked 2 HR's to center on a pretty deep field....i NEVER hit homeruns and both times i knew they were gone.

Good productivity, no problems with the job and no difficulties I'd say take two weeks and get clean and healthy before the problem escalates.

It is a little shocking how much support there is for coke.

Not as horrible as it's made out to be, and maybe a little coke here and there isn't bad in the short-term, but down the line it'll take a toll on your dopamine production -- whether you choose to admit it or not.

How do you know he wasn't smoking crack? He would have came up for coke.

it would be funny if every prescription that people took from their doctors came with it a public publishing of exactly what drug you are on. Who would you rather be running your MLB team, a guy blowing lines, or some guy taking those pills that make you have diarrhea, depression, bloody stool, gout, anal itching, thoughts of suicide, severe stomach pains, vaginal rash,,,,,,,,,or what about the google of pain-killers LEGALLY distributed and consumed on this continent. Wow, everyone cares way too much what professional athletes do during downtime.  Who cares... Really who gives a shit if these guys do blow, weed, or steroids for that matter.  The government should be the same way. barely saw any games up here as i have basic cable...very funny the fans ended being right about his drug usage.....i was kinda having fun with the thread....im aware of his poor decision making and hurdle probably is the correct move, but mayb washington will bond better with hamilton and it will lead to a stronger lineup

My place suspends you a month no pay during which you have to go to rehab.  Then for 5 years, you are subject to random drug tests anytime the company says.  After 5 years, you get it wiped from your record.

As for Washington, my opinion is a bit torn.  In one aspect, being the manager of such of big team I think you have a responsibility to do the right thing.  Getting busted for coke is embarrassing to the organization, to yourself, to the players who play for you, and the kids who watch the team.  With that said, I also DO NOT believe in this person PC world that has taken over the last decade in this country.  Where the owners shake in their boots and do whatever they THINK is the right thing to do(according to the media or their sponsers or public pressure).  Sit down with Washington.  Look the old fuck in the eyes and have a conversation.  If you gauge that the man is cocky about it and most likely a regular user, give him the ax.  If he comes off GENUINELY upset and sorry about a one time thing, then maybe you give him a pass.
