IBM wants stimulus $ and will create jobs in India

since when did our government check what these companies did with their billions in bailout money anyway.

man some of you guys just will never understand what pensions are.  People traded lower wagers all those years while they were working, in order to get those benefits.  Why is this so friggin difficult for some of you to understand this .

So because people in otehr countries are willing to work for 5 days a day, we should be doing that in our country?

 

Do you guys want to be paid 5 dollars a day for your work?  Seems like a bunch of you spend alot of time bitching about how much people get paid, yet you never mention your own over paid wages.

 

Since none of you want people to earn pensions, how is it exactly people are supposed to ever be able to retire?  Yeah i know they should all create their own 401k's and let them get wiped out by the crooks on wallstreet.  Well how about those companies paying the employees the cash then that the employees let the companies take out of their pay to pay for those pensions?

 

KOAJ, thinks everybody is savy enough to manage their own retirements plans, well it just isnt so.  Not everybody grew up in a family of finacial planners.  People chose to work for less money to have the company handle their retirements, thats why their pensions.  Instead of knocking pension plans, maybe some of you should go find jobs that offer these type of things.

 

 

Now as far as ibm getting cash and going overseas to create jobs, thats downright disgusting and needs to be stopped. You want taxpayers money, then you better use it in this country or else take a friggin hike.

cd - the pension money isnt there unless it was sitting in cash. these companies have tons of money owed in the next 10-20 years and many will have to offer either one time lump sum buyouts or file chapter 11 to get out of the pensions.

im just saying that most pension plans as they are currently built are not sustainable. (including government pension plans)

thats always been my position...whether i agree with the concept or not. if its managed properly and it involves only contributors or private money then i'm all for it but when i, as a taxpayer who has no pension has to have my tax money go to pay for private workers pensions then i have issues

they didnt take tax payer money, they were given stimulus money just like the construction companies in florida who hired illegals

 I think what you still fail to grasp about pension plans is that the employees pay a good portion of these plans by reduced wages from their weekly paychecks.  Stop blaming the workers for the pension plans because its the companies who offer these things.  Its not the workers faults that the companies mismanage the pension funds and then fall behind.

Like i said if companies dont want to offer pension plans, then give the workers the money back that would be coming out of their checks every week to pay for the plans.

 

 

Also i know you are in love with creating and managing your own pension thru 401ks and such, lot of people dont know how to do that and alot of people dont trust outside companies to manage their retirements due to being afraid of being robbed and as we can all see how that has turned out the last few years with all these crooks coming to the surface who have fleeced people out of all their retirement savings.  Like i said you should be thankful you know how to watch and manage your money, a huge majority of people dont know how to do it and never will.

oh one other thing, stimulus money is taxpayer money, in one form or another.

no wonder indiana is such a shit hole...drove thru it once on I-70...who would want to live in a state paying $12 a day and no pensions.

It is funny that people are against me thinking I am "far left" or crazy because I do not agree with Fox news propanganda or actually propaganda of any kind...

 

So before you people attack just for posting an opinion, let me say that I actually agree with  the outrage of corporate bail outs and have said over and over again that this is not "american" in the sense of free market capitalism...

 

But lets be real here in the fact that with less regulation outsourcing became easier to do and made more profit for companies...  So why is outsourcing so bad if the last administration "which was so great" was not against it...

 

Don't "we all benefit" when corporations do well?  Shouldn't we just have a blank check and keep giving them stimuls/public tax payer money to keep these guy a float and pay for pensions and other things for them to stay in business?

 

It is this type of logic that has gotten us into the place we are now and we are worrying about pensions rather then jobs...

 

It is now becoming basic "coporate wellfare" where the companies that cry and bitch the moan the most that get the most stimulus money...

 

So wouldn't it make sense with the current climate for companies to tank so they get free money? 

 

Why should a company show profit now when they won't get the billions of dollars of free tax payer money?

 

and this culture of "corporate well fare" started with not taxing them, making it easy for them, not regulating, so we end up with "disabled corporations" that were not able to make it with out greased wheels...

 

Problem is companies arent just happy making profits, they want to make giant profits at the expense and destruction of our own country.

Bottomline and alot of people just arent seeing the big picture, the more companies that keep going overseas to increase their profits is going to mean less and less jobs here.  We already dont have enough jobs in this country to begin with and if companies still get to get a free ride for shipping jobs overseas so that they can make 90 percent profits instead of say 60 percent profits here, then this is what will finally destroy this country and people will be fighting in the streets.

Its time for companies to start realizing that if they want to be part of this country then they need to start acting like it.  Like i said companies are going to need to start sitting down and realizing its better long term business to keep people working here in this country, so that they can have the money to keep buying their products. If they are making a profit keeping the jobs here then So what if they wont make the same type of profits that they could make by going overseas.  I have always believed that if you go overseas to make your product instead of taking care of the country you live in, then sell the damn products over there to the people making it for you.  Problem is the people making those products for these companies all are in third world nations and cant afford what they will sell them for.  Enough of this crap where companies make products at third world nation prices, yet sell us these products at industrialized prices.  I know some of you look to spout out well thats the free market system and companies should be allowed to go where ever they can to get their products made as cheap as they can.  Sorry but thats plan wrong.

Its time for the greed factor to end in this country and instead start having business and workers work together for the good of both sides.

 

just remember our population isnt getting smaller and everyday that more jobs get lost or sent overseas, the closer to we are at a real war in this country.  That war is going to be against the govt and corporations.  When people cant afford a place to live in or food to put on the table, there will be full mass chaos in this country.  So like i said if businesses are smart they will start rethinking how much profit is enough for them to make, because if not long term they will just put themselves out of business when nobody is able to buy their stuff.

just like i pay into SS now. i expect nothing when i retire and would like to opt out if i could
