I got a 90% raise back in 05 (from engineering at a forklift place to the ludicrous offshore oilfield) and it was good to go, so I know where you're coming from. 3 years later

Thanks a lot STEEL. I've been meaning to do that same thing. Getting tired of hearing "if you keep working hard you'll get that promotion."

I'll admit when I first started that I would spend lots of time researching games to bet on later that night, but I've been working hard for years now.

Maybe they didn't take you seriously cuz you're that guy that's always chatting up sports with everyone like I do. Can't help it though, it's what I like to talk about, but sadly, I probably have to leave the company too if I wanna get anywhere in life.

In my industry people hop to competitors like it's a routine, so don't feel bad. 

Glad to hear hard work can pay off though. Seems like that never happens anymore.
