 I feel for the OP (if his story is true)........I used to room with a guy that ended up with 5 DUI's.......2 of them while he was on the way to work after a rough nite......but he was just a shitty driver........the guy scared me when he was sober.........alcohol certainly didn't help him drive but he was just a spaz behind the wheel even though he was otherwise a sharp guy..........hard to figure sometimes.

I can't believe people who excuse this shit.  I think pretty much everyone knows or knows of somebody who was killed by a drunk driver.  Are you really gonna argue over whether the limit should be 0.08 or 0.12???   To me unless you're going out for dinner and happen to have a beer two, you should not plan on driving. 

Fuck this idiot .... if he's stupid enough to get "caught" not once but twice, he's probably driven drunk 1000 times plus.

and you didt exactly address my point.  i had a run in with the law when i was 17, i went about 8 years without driving after having 1 sip of alcohol, and certainly havent driven anywhere close to the legal limit since.  you know why???? bc of the law.  the consequences of my actions certainly werent worthwhile.  to say ppl dont drink and drive bc of the law is just preposterous.

OK 1st off YOU proved there was no stop sign at that street so YOU win that case and THE Fucking ass hole COP  cannot convict ON YOU drunk driving because YOU did NOT blow a stop sign !

BUT because YOU agreed to take a breath alayzer NOW YOUR fucked !

I'm in Law enforcemnt it's MY Job differnt area though than regular  police work !

I drink lots every time i go with my friends to sports bar we meet there while having action on the games we all collabrated about

I never GET drunk but after 4 drinks i know if i get pulled I'm FUCKING Drunk !

 

SO i either take a cab home OR Bus or Walk i'm usally within a mile of my house !

moral of story even after 5 hours nap the booze is still in YOUR system !

WAKE UP YOU fucked UP !

I guess it depends on where in the country, but I read the average is 100 times driving drunk per arrest. And yes, I'll admit to having driven drunk a handful of times in my life, but not more than perhaps 5 times in my life. And probably not in the last 10 years. Have a couple drinks and drive safely or make other plans.

In the state of Mass. you are actually the victim when you get caught for a dui. Heck they let guys out on parole who are serving 3 life sentences.
It is very unlikely you will do any time but you will be treated like an atm because that's all that disgusting state wants from you. Make a campaign contribution to Deval Patrick and buy a couple of copies of his book and I'm sure this will all go away.

You will not get jail time for 2nd dui.  You will lose your license for 2 years, $1,000 surcharge each of the next three years, spend a weekend (48 hrs) in an IDR clinic, 16 weeks of alcohol meetings, 8 AA meetings, and 90 days community service.

After you add in the lawyer and court fees it will probably run ya around 6-7 grand.  If you get a third dwi its mandatory 6 months jail time.

Do you know that your chances of getting in a car accident are 2 times greater while texting and driving than drinking and driving. Here in Michigan they dont even pull you over if they see you texting and driving but you CAN get a ticket for $250. Thats a slap on the wrist but they really come down on drinking and driving. If they are going to make laws so harsh against D&D why not ban alcohol sales? The government knows about the health dangers of cigarettes but does not make them illegal why because of the all mighty $. A bunch of hypocrites running this society. I don't think drunk driving is right but they need to look at other things that might be at a greater risk like our young drivers who text and drive.

so you know it takes at least 8 hours after your last drink before your officcally not drunk. So driving wasn't a good idea. very bad idea.

I agree with what you are trying to say. A disproportionate amount of the American workforce is devoted to making criminals out of average citizens by quietly stripping away civil liberties. This is a portion of the economy that produces nothing and ruins the lives of many good citizens whom actually produce real commodities for this nation.

And of course America has made it profitable business for private industry to incarcerate individuals, creating a formidable system, based solely on incarceration rates, throwing rehabilitation to the wayside.

Like always you Fail to see the bigger picture. All im saying is Dui laws are out of whack and for the most part have just been turned into a money generating scheme. No ones saying It shouldnt be Illegal to drive completely hammered. As for everyone calling me a moron because of my stance thats just patently false. Seems to be about 60/40. Sure some of my points could be wrong but the overall message is pure. Like I said before id rather be less safe and more free then live in a nanny police state where i have to show my papers and submit bodily fluids just to leave the house and prove im not drunk when ive given them no probable cause to search my body.

wow your arguing if they give you a breathalyzer as we are a police state if your not drunk your on your way there are a small majority of cops that pull poeple over for no reason( oh but that one time they framed the guy )greedly your doing too the cops what you say thay are doing to you.

After the 1st dui, you were supposed to learn something about the system. You didn't. Hopefully you'll learn after this one. 

A buddy of mine is a hardcore alcoholic. He got a dui a couple years back (extreme, I believe .21). Did 10 days in tent city, classes, fines, breathalyzer in vehicle for a year. He learned, good luck to you.
YOU CAN'T DRINK AND DRIVE ANYMORE. Write this down on your wall and read it everyday.
