LOL...the reason you don't understand the nature of some of these comments is... the same reason your book won't pay you, you just sound like your a fool and have no balls. ( that's if the story was legit)

Alot of us here have been gambling with books for 20-30 yrs or more, and when we read your novel, we can read between the lines, your story has more holes it in than Swiss cheese.

FIRST THING on every "real" gamblers mind when they hand over any kind of $$$ to a book should be/is, if I happen to win... am I going to get paid. And... if I don't get paid, do I have what it takes to make sure I do get paid. If your story was in fact true ( which it's not) THEY SAW YOU COMING A MILE AWAY... you were in fact beat right from jump street!

My guess is this... you gave your friend $200 to bet with the book, you got that up to $1500. The book paid your friend... who in turn told you he did not get paid and now is spending your money.

If you need a real book, i'll give you my address, send me $500 to show good faith, and i'll give you the number to my friend "Don's" book. Trust me... you will have no problem getting paid... promise.

Don't go to the cops you'll end up in a dumpster.  Plus if these guys are the real deal the cops are on the payroll.   I would find a loan shark and sell off the debt. 

This guy probably doesn't have the money so he's giving you the run around.  

Connected bookies will pay, because they don't want the risk of being snitched on.  That means your guy is probably just some fly by night wannabe.

What sucks is if you owed them 30k they'd be knocking on your door and the threats would be flying.

you got involved with shady ass people, who aren't going to just live up to their word because you want them to...

if you want them to take you seriously, show them what happens when you don't get paid... whoever the lackey guy is who was taking your money... they need to find him in a ditch with an axe in his skull... then you have a chance of getting your money... if not... find the next guy and put an axe in his skull...

people who steal money have NO rights on this earth...

If you get your $1500 back, I would advise you to spend $500 of it on gasoline and matches, and then have your great friend who advised you to do business with this guy, to give you his address or his car details.

Then, apply liberally the aforementioned shitload of gasoline to the guys car and then proceed to light that bitch up.

I have grown bored of this thread. It is either bullshit, or between you and your fantastic buddy who got you involved, you are short a set of balls and a brain. 

I'm sure you can find a friend of yours who is a gutless fuck and has no heart, and then the 3 of you ( ball-less, brain-less, and gutless ) can skip off down the Yellow Brick Road and either find a Wizard or fuck off!

hahahahahhahaahha funniest thing i have read in a while. almost crying in the school computer lab i am in. listen just offer some guys to get the money for you and give them a 50% cut on the money they collect. someone will break this guys legs if you cant do it yourself

your an idiot for going up 10 large on a street bookie and then betting again before you ever got paid.The only way you MIGHT have seen that money was if you were down 11 large that wenseday. You might be good at gambling but you certainly not very street smart!

In case you would want to move away so you could not be found turn all the information over to the FEDS.  They will spend hundreds of thousands to bust a bookie.  They can usually get their money back by seizures and fines.  If you can't/won't handle it yourself and don't want to turn them in you need to just forget about it.  Or, if you could get that $1500, take it and charge the rest up to experience.  Don't mess with the local cops, though, not to be trusted at all.  FEDS or forget it.  Trace the phones and start fires.  I always liked fires.

your right, i will be the first to admit I am not made for situations like this, i wont say im a box, but its hard to go about the situation i am in and taking action without bringing legal consequence to my self. I wish I would have handled the situation differently, it sucks. I would have stopped when I was up 7 grand, but quite frankly I believed that I would be paid, having been an outsider with some of my friends who owed money to bookies and seen the ferver in which the money is collected, I figured I would get paid. The double standard that exists it sickening. Legal or not legal. I messed up by spending money before I ever got paid and now my situation is in the gutter. So yeah. I dont know where I go from here, I would love to make life hell for all the parties that were involved in not paying me, but yeah, my luck that will bite me in the ass, I just want my 1500 back at this point. And the longer it takes to get that, the more I suspect I was dealing with individuals with no bank roll.

i understand you are a schoolteacher, and im not going to call you a box,  but it sounds like your not a street hood either...

you need to call the local who was taking your bets.  tell him you just wanna talk to him in person.  as soon as he gets in your car or you get in his,  put a .45 to his chest and tell him he has 48 hours to hand you $35,000.  5 thou just because you say so.  also remind him you know exactly where he lays his head every night, and you dont give a fuck whether or not his bosses are fucking him around, tell him you dont deal with his bosses you deal with him.  then end it by saying 'tick-tock' and get back in your car and drive off...

if you dont have the stones to pull that caper(which is entirely the case)  you need to hire someone to buy your debt.  they will pay you 50%-67% of the money you are owed, and they will go and deal with it.   PLENTY of people will take care of it.
