Update: On a 24 hour pass. On Day 4, I suffered a slight meniscus tear in my left knee. Stepped in a deep hole that was covered with brush and twisted it hard. Was offered the opportunity to go home but I am staying. I had to drop from my current class and am currently waiting here @ the base for the next class to start. Unfortunately, I cannot go home and wait...the waiting game has to be done on the base. Might be for the best anyway, as this is a place that I need to be completely free from any distractions. All in all, I will have had 24 days to rest and heal for the start of the next class. Pushes my tentative graduation date another month to late September.
Dissapoiting to say the least. I know I cannot fully recover from this in just a few weeks but the doc here is taking care of me and with med's combined with really pushing myself, the doc and I both agree that it is possible that I make it through this. He did warn me that if I complete the course and graduate, I may be looking at some knee surgery to do some "cleaning." One step at a time I guess.
The heat is the biggest enemy out here. We have had several dudes go down and then go home after dropping to the ground because of heat casualties. Brutal.
I'll keep you guys posted of my progress along the way. Take it easy.

Ranger School isn't that bad...if you can just make it through RAP week then it's just one long slog where all you have to do is follow the cat eyes in front of you (as long as you're not in a leadership position).
"Whatcha gonna do PL?"
Embrace the suck and remember there is profit in chaos!

Yesterday morning, my long long (115 days) journey ended. I graduated as a Army Ranger in front of my entire family. Was easily one of the best days of my life. Afterwards, we all went out to eat and then my brother, dad and I got drunk at BW3's watching the Yankees-Rangers game. What a great time.
My son is 15 months now and is a great kid. He was wearing a "Proud of my Ranger Dad" shirt on graduation day. Sweet moment.
Heading to Afghanistan in 7 weeks. Until then, its time to get some family time in and recover (lost 27 pounds). Thanks for all your support fellas!
