I have to admit, what I find most hilarious is the "shock jock" approach of the "truthers." The loud music as part of their videos (it's kind of like an opera if you ask me 
). They show a bunch of destruction and then cut away to a "quote" from some "expert."

Mostly it's the details. I think they knew the threat was great....I don't think they were forthright about that. I don't think they acted on the information they had in a timely manner. I also have questions as to why none of the planes were intercepted before they crashed.
They failed to see what was right in front of their eyes. And then didn't react in the right manner IMO.
But I believe the nuts and bolts of of 19 Islamic terrorists crashing 4 planes without the assistance of the US government (other than their general incompetence which they frequently demonstrate anyway).

Why did the gov. do it? This is where the conspiracy theories tend to fall apart. It wasn't to gain support for war, they used the WMD debacle for that, it wasn't for insurance on the towers, the gov steals more with pen and paper every day.
I think the US gov has killed it's own many times, like Waco or during their crackdown on right wing militia, even Kent ST, I just don't see it in this case.
