Wait, what? You placed $50k bets on Lakers and Houston? Fake or not that could be the dumbest "biggest" bets in Covers history. Lakers = trash and Houston is an unproven commodity this year. Unless you had a live bet of +20 or something why would you ever place $50k on trash teams regardless of what the spread is? In addition if you're a veteran gambler you'd know never to go all in chasing your losses. That makes no sense. Be it hundreds or thousands you'll never end up on the winning side.

when you're gambling, you obviously don't do anything else. You're not learning, you're not meeting people, you're destroying your health and relationships with everyone around you... basically all important pillars of your life would have fallen apart.

All it does is bring massive destruction to all aspects of your life. While you may get that moment of high when you're at it, but everything after that comes crumbling down and you have to pay dearly for it.

Not only Lakers.  I was chasing losses ( nfl, nba, you name it) so bad that I was blind. I should have took a step back and realised, when i was down to $20,000 or so that I should just cut my losses and be happy.

i do like your little quote on it destroying lives. i have had that feeling before but once you get out of it and manage your gambling addiction it can be a fun and enjoyable hobby. I do play several games a day at times but I do not spend my entire time checking on scores or watching games. I place my bets and let it ride and check it at the end of the day. Yes it is less "enjoyable" that way but at least it doesn't consume my life. At the end of the day it is just that, a hobby. It does not put food on my table nor does it pay off any debt or credits. I can lose for an entire week and have no regrets.
