You are not going to get money back from wager if thats how they graded previous matches.  You can however send that to the higher ups at book and they will prolly give you some shit for free for dealing with a d-bag customer service guy....No more hot dog eating contests I guess bud.

You basically called Tony a cheater and a liar.  Now, you are saying you treated him with respect?

I respected the book enough to conduct business there, did I not? It has nothing to do with Tony.

    2. Just because it was a wrestling match doesn't automatically mean that the outcome was EVER disputable. The results are clearly posted and 100/100 people that watched the match would tell you that The Miz won the match. Attempting to create a gray area just because it was an exotic wager is ridiculous.

    3. They didn't grade the wager until almost 20-30 minutes after the conclusion of the event. That's been verified by several people that wagered on the event.

    4. Exactly. Once again, just because it's wrestling doesn't mean it was a difficult wager to grade. Bodog and the other books got it correct, why didn't 5dimes?

    5. That's the point. "I don't give a fuck what the official results posted by the WWE are." Read: "I'll grade that however the hell I want" which is right in line with "some people happy, some not." Me and Kapono = not happy. Tony = delighted.

Remember the Music City Bowl this year?

Controversy surrounded the final seconds of regulation. With North Carolina driving into Tennessee territory to try a game-tying field goal, the clock appeared to expire as the Tar Heels were getting their kicking unit onto the field, setting off a UT victory celebration. After announcing the game was over, the officiating crew decided to review the play. After further review, it was decided the ball was snapped before time expired with North Carolina having too many men on the field. After being assessed a five-yard penalty, Casey Barth kicked a 39-yard field goal to tie the game at 20-20 and send it into overtime.

What if they graded Tennessee as the winner then refused to change the grading? This event was particularly interesting as people dumped off tons of money live betting only to have it scooped up at +9999.

Did that really happen? Did they put that up after the game was "over"?

What if they graded Tennessee as the winner then refused to change the grading? This event was particularly interesting as people dumped off tons of money live betting only to have it scooped up at +9999.

Did that really happen? Did they put that up after the game was "over"?

Tony: next time you've got 2k riding on WWE, you should think again about what you've gotten yourself into

He does make a good point. How the fuck anyone can bet blindly on an event where the result is known beforehand is ridiculous.

Reread what you just typed. If the result is known, why wouldnt you bet if you have insight?

Tony talking trash about someone having 2K riding on a parlay that involves one WWE match, while he himself admits he booked over 6 figures worth on action on the event, falls on deaf ears.

I never said that I had the insight but there are people within the WWE that know who is going to win each match. That's what comes with them being scripted and planned ahead of time. I am a grown man. I no longer watch wrestling.

In saying that, you do know that wrestling isn't real don't you? You do know that the matches are scripted don't you? Please tell me that you do.

Jesus. Yes, I know this. If the matches are scripted and the winner is known prior to the event and you know who the winner most likely is....why wouldnt you bet?

Someone makes a lot of money somewhere because these things are won/lost before it starts, so people literally do have a "LOCK"

    Make sense?

Listen to TRAIN on this one, Syd. There's no reason not to get money down, even on wrestling, if its a +EV situation.

This is why the limits are tiny, the juice is ridiculous and why very few books choose to offer the sport as a betting option. 5Dimes do because they have suckers/squares who will bet on anything. Even events where the winner is known by some ahead of time.

Betting and losing on an event such as this and then complaining about it? You have no right to complain if you bet on events that are won and done before they have even started.

Sorry, have to totally disagree with this statement.

If there are rules governing the outcome of a wager, why shouldnt you complain if those rules are violated - whether the outcome was known in advance is totally irrelevant.

Look - Im not sure why there is such a common sentiment in this thread that these guys should accept their assfucking because it happened to be wrestling they bet on.  Everyone thinks they are so smart because they can come in here and make fun of those who bet wrestling.  I see it totally differently - the smart ones are the ones who can see an edge and take advantage - whether it is cricket, wrestling, whale races, football, or polo.

Do you hear what you are saying Syd? You are saying it is the fault of the players for betting on a line that a book puts out on an event, and then when the books screw them with a BS interpretation that causes some to lose their bets of up to +500 and above, well tough shit for the players because they shouldn't have played the event in the first place?

Come on. Why put the lines out if you don't want them bet in to? Tony said 5dimes took over 100,000 in bets on this event.... but when he tightens his butthole up cause he realizes he's gonna take a beating on paying out winners, he pulls out some bullshit interpretation of the rules to save his book from paying out legitimate winners.

I agree with both sides here..

First off Tony was a dickhead to you. I'll stop wagering with 5dimes.. not impressed with his handling of the situation.

But... you can't really complain when your betting on something that has already been decided before hand. Wrestling is a sopa opera for men (boys)....

Stick to the real sports that don't have a script and have althetes instead of juiced up actors.

Madden you've been around for a while, I've seen you post, you are a smart guy. How can you say "well a book is screwing you over, albeit on an entertainment event that is not really a sport... you guys should just not complain that you are getting bent over"

I don't understand that line of thinking? Why should players taking a bending over from their books regardless of the event?

A book puts out a line with the intent that it will be bet into. When it does, and then when the book pulls some BS to save themselves some money, it's all of a sudden OK because the players shouldn't have been betting on it in the first place?

That being said....  A couple of thoughts....

    1.  Tony deals with lying scamming bullshit artists 90% of his day.  So while I am not saying his tone is acceptable in all cases, it is hard to expect the same of him as customer service from a steakhouse.

    2.  The nature of a wager on wrestling is ripe for interpretation, and controversy.  As Tony says, it isnt hockey or football where you have established rules, it is kind of make it up as you go along.  So results can and will be up for interpretation at times.

    3.  Tony and 5dimes are interested in grading wagers quickly, and it is very hard to take back a wager once it is graded.  It is in their best interest to stick with a grading at all costs.

    4.  If you are going to take wagers on wrestling, than you should understand that it is not hockey or football and take appropriate actions to avoid these disputes, or dont take the wagers in the first place.

    5.  It is POSSIBLE, that when you have rules that are up for interpretation, and one side has all the power - that that side will abuse their power in their favor.  Buyer beware.

It sounds to me like Tony stated that the winner would be the announced winner, and it sounds to me like the announced winner was the miz (whoever the fuck that is).  IF that is the case, it seems pretty simple to me - but something tells me that is not exactly the case.

Should Tony be more aware of the customer and what that means?  Yes.  But the customer should also be aware of the industry he is participating in - it is full of scammers trying to pull off everything in the book - and Tony heads it off with a gangster attitude.  But his attitude isnt what is in play here IMO - it is the logical flow of the events.

Scotty from Betjamaica deals with that same 90% scumbag ratio-----he would have made this right with the customer.   Tony is an asshole and I won't ever play at that site again....just on the premise of how he handled this situation.  This wasn't a black/white situation.  Fuck him

If you guys play anywhere else other than greek and betjamaica, you're crazy.

I am going to pay -110 juice instead of -105 because 2 guys didn't like the way their wrestling wager was graded?

The Greek and 5dimes are both good books, but 5dimes is a better book, because they offer more betting options, and they have reduced juice.  I have the Greek be rude to me on the phone many times because I couldn't understand their accents.  5 dimes keeps me on hold for a long time, but they have always been polite.
