Something about this guy who said he was on strict diets of 1650 calories a day eating well...at his most strict.

Said average american adult eats 4k calories a day. According to astudy the brain Iguess slows down the heart from a functional standpoint, and those in the study that ate this way compared to much more calories had hearts that were considered much younger for their age. very interesting. I did not see the entire part, but it was reallycool. Brain has this function.

How the hell do you get up to 4k a day?  I eat a good amount of food in a day , sure I am a vegan , but even when I eat pastas and heavy calorie foods I couldnt imagine eating 4000 a day (i know the less is what you should be doing but I was stunned by the 4k being average)

I have read about this also. Found a few articles on the topic.

    https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/06/080630112050.htm

    https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/05/080514064921.htm

    Basicly saying...

Eating less is better for your health, than eating a lot and excercising a lot.

Interesting actually.. we have always been told that it doesnt matter how much we eat so long we use just as much energy.

Was a bit surprised as well..i would have figured around 3,300...but really lets think...a grown adult probably has 3 meals a day, with a snack in there..may drink soda, iced tea etc...calories there as well...makes semi sense

Pretty easy to hit 4,000 calories if not thinking about it.  A large Domino's pizza is probably close to 3,000 calories.  Throw a few beers or sodas in there and another meal and way over 4,000.

I've seen numbers close to 4k before, but I thought those were coming from grocers and considered food wasted too. If the average person's "maintenance" is 2,500 (a total guess but it seems reasonable), then the average person is gaining almost 1/2 pound a day - people are fat but that seems excessive.

Aside from milk, pretty much all non-diet beverages are empty calories. That's how most people get fat.

No, but I have heard good stuff about fitday. I keep track of my diet in an excel sheet. I think it's really helpful when you're trying to lose weight (but not muscle) so you can make sure you're getting enough protein (ideally 1 gram per lb of lean body mass).

Somebody needs to invent and market a cumulative counter ASAP.  They would make a fortune.

Oh my, it appears that this website does not like my morning snack.

Apparently my low carb diet outlook is not as low carb as originally thought.

One medium banana and a leftover soft taco and I'm half way through the day in carbs?????

    WTF?

The good news is that Bud Light has a trace amount of Calcium.

Gonna eat an apple just so I can log it in and see what happens

site seems alright, but i have no desire in keeping a log on what i ate.

i know you should, but I really dont need to. I can count my calories no problem, plus i eat many similar things so its not that hard

Holy Shit..... those 2 slices of Turkey also has 50% daily sodium

There is no Boar's Head nutritional info in the database and pulling Oscar Meyer turkey (but can type in boars head brand and it will save it in the database)

I need to start reading these labels.

Running low on Fiber for the day.

Redlining on Fiber.  Need oats ASAP
