anyone ever have this? its not directly on ball of foot but just under it on the inside of left foot.
it kills me to walk or put pressure on it, hurts to touch, feels like i am walking on the bone itself
gonna go see a doc this week but was curious if anyone had this
been icing the shit out of it for 5 days and still a little swollen but no progress made at all
was doing an arm workout when it started though i was on the elliptical before, and did some calf raises but didnt hurt when i did any of that, started hurting when i did curls 30 minutes later.
its really annoying
just wondering if anyone had this and what remedies they used that worked, ice and advil not doing the trick....worse when barefoot, wtf

Could be a tiny stress fracture due to bad mechanics and being overweight.
I'd stay off it as much as possible. Lose weight. Try to change your walking mechanics. Make a conscious effort to land each step with as little initial heel impact as possible.
Boxers used to put tacks on their heels, but that might be a bit extreme.
Do you have bad knees? Are you overweight?

slowly mate thx 4 asking, saw doc yesterday, he said its healing but slowly, but its only been 10 days since diagnosis, he said its normal
my right foot (good foot) was killing me so i had that x rayed and he said it looks good, its just sore from bearing the weight right now, i thought that sesamoid may be broken too.
this is not fun, he says to stay in surgical shoe for 2 more weeks and we will review where its at then.
talked to a head nurse at a hospital, she said its all of a 6 to 8 week injury to fully heal but it will heal (as opposed to horror stories online i have read about it never healing cuz of blood flow)
bottom line, doc was being overly optimistic with initial prognosis of 4-6 weeks and 2-3 weeks in surg shoe....looks like the latter for both at this point
did say i can possibly get in an orthotic in 2 weeks if pain has subsided and xrays show it possible. i cant see myself without this shoe right now

how did you manage it? ice, rest etc?? a few weeks is a long time to be walking around with a huge limp or pain
Sorry just saw this, not much I did, basically just rest and stayed off it as much as possible. After a week it started to feel a little better and after 2 weeks it was gone. No idea what it was but luckily it hasnt come back.

update: surgical shoe off last thursday the 13th. Doc said it looks to be healing really really nicely. Still pretty sore to touch or walk on but getting better. Still swollen.

so maybe he will be on target with 4-6 week recovery after all. Says dont overdo it here next to weeks and no orthotics necessary at this point.
