Bum knee, been bothering me. I am 50, but in very good shape. The knee "clicks" sometimes, feels weak, hurts on the top right side (left knee) and middle right. Sometimes the knee cap feels like it is "moving". I can't even make it through 9 holes of golf any longer--with a cart. I know I have to make an appt to see a doc. Anyone ever deal with something like this before?

skip the doc and hit a PT facility..... if u play a lot of golf it can torque the left knee. May need to strenghten the quad. If the hams are stronger than the quads it can affect the knee cap tracking.... that and stay hydrated.

Not a Doc, but it sounds to me like cartilage build up under your cap. Its from damage and strain over the years. Ive had several scopes for the very same thing. Its not a bad surgery at all, infact i had a procedure on a tuesday and played a football game on a saturday. You'll feel much better and be back active in know time bro.
Gl....and update us if you would.

Don't listen to this fool. Go see an MD. From what it sounds like you may have a depletion of synovial fluid or meniscus wear/damage.

My buddy is a rep for Johnson and Johnson for knees and hips. Hopefully you have good insurance. You just might need a new cap on that one. I'm no doc of course. Recoverytime and being back to normal is amazing these days. Quicker and less painful than you'd assume.
Best of luck either way.
Toss an update when you find out. GL

Sounds like a piece of torn cartilage(meniscus). The doctor may want to do X-rays and an MRI before a knee arthroscopy. Prognosis would be better for that than arthritis, as if you have the former you just need to get a piece of cartilage shaved, should help eliminate the pain and clicking. Minor procedure too.

there are several things that this could be. without seeing xrays there is no way to really give you advice, but i say a torn medial meniscus along with arthritis in your medial compartment.quad strength does help tracking ,but your said your knee hurts on the right side of your left knee.this the medial side or towards the midline of the body.classic symptom of arthritis.also, this is my guess due to it is exacerbated during exercise.try 4 advils 3 times a day . see what that does and go see a knee specialist in your area. good luck

I did not not know that surgery cures arthritis though.
Man, my knee aches when I play lots of golf. Had these EXACT same symptoms 2 years ago. Went straight to PT cuz I hate docs and the quads took care of it. Plus hydration.
