i played football in college and they beefed me up to 215 i am 6"0 and then when i stopped playing i turned into a fat 225 eating like shit because i finally didnt have to train. i then realized my family has a history of heart problems and i should be proactive.
i took out all fat foods, chips, fries, sweets, pizza anything terrible fattening i took out.
From May 1 to December 1 i got down to 175 losing 50 lbs. Here is how i did it...
Ran 2.25 miles (15-20 minutes) on an elliptical everyday at home
Did 800 pushups and 5000 situps
Stretched before and after every workout
I did not wait train until i got rid of the garbage on me
I remember going to bed with a grumbling stomach just craving some fried food at nights but if i just went to sleep it would go away
breakfast: bowl of plain cheerios with skim milk (both are key with sugar in the other cheerios and fat in milk)
lunch: turkey sandwich with lowfat mayo and mustard, maybe lettuce on wheat
dinner: i would make pork chops and pierogies (mr ts are low fat, dont fry them, boil them) chicken with rice, noodles and sauce (healthy choice sauce) always with a corn, broccoli, peas or green beans
Just some advice, it wasnt that grueling for me at all and it was the best decision i ever made. I took a year off after working out for 3 years hard and put on the wait again but i had healthier eating habits.
Today i work out 6 days a week at home, am a sales manager in a premier health club and weight about 190 (i gotta lose 5lbs before spring because i have been lazier than normal since marriage but am back in gear now)
its addicting to eat shit food and its addicting to work out and exercise, everyone has choices. i still drank when i did all that too so its not an end of the world thing. its a commitment and i commend you and wish you luck for taking action.
