EZ Creamy Hash Brown Potato Soup

OK kids, another EZ recipe...
 
1 lg onion minced
2 stalks celery minced
2 cans chicken broth
1- 32oz bag frozen shredded hash brown potatoes
1 lb. Velveeta cheese cubed
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 1/2 cups milk or buttermilk
salt/pepper to taste
Garnish with bacon bits
 
Boil the onion and celery in the chicken broth until tender. Add hash browns and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, add Velveeta and stir until melted. Add the rest of the ingrediants mix well and simmer for about an hour. Garnish with bacon bits.
 
Viola....Bon Appetti !!! So EZ a caveman can do it.
 
I like to serve mine with Fresh French Bread.

That sounds bomb Apache......I'll have to give that a try tomorrow...
 
Safe to say some chopped chicken in that might not be too bad either
COVERS allows u to tell someone they are sexually frustrated so long as ur hands are clean

I made this soup brotha.....Freakin awesome
 
I added in some chopped chicken and some shreded carrots to the mix......Garnished it with real bacon crumbles, dollop of sour cream and some chopped green onions.....
 
I brought what was left to work and I just caught the HR lady licking the pot.... I always thought she was a licker......
 
Think I am going to make again adding in some mushrooms and green peppers...

Sounds good...but with all the recipes you pos on here there is no way in hell you are under 280lbs.

I am going to give this a try with a few twists after I get rid of the 3 batches of chilli/beef barley/creamy corn chowder I made over the last few days. 
 
Father-
 
You can use low sodium/low fat soups and lower fat velveeta if you want. You can also use lower fat milk and buttermilk has low fat as it is.  Hash browns will be fatty, but that's a small price to pay.
 
It's really not that bad provided you have some portion control.

My Great Grandmother was Chiricahua Apache and in some way was kin to Geronimo. She died in1903.

6'0' 195lbs. in pretty good shape for the shape I'm in, I get lots of exercise. I do all the cookin at home, my wife's incapacitated and brother in law can't make a bowl of cereal, so I cook for both of them and some of the neighbors.

tried the taco soup last week. . . was good!!!  

i will have to give this one a try sometime soon and will let you know what i think.  sounds great though!!! 

i have recently just started to try and learn to cook so it helps that you giving me recipes and directions that are easy and good

I have just been reading up on Geronimo. Very interesting story of his life...

Apache - im going to try get covers to organize your recipes or archive them better - as you work hard on this stuff and frankly they are all very male like recipes - plus id love to see them all written down.
 
do you have all of this stuff written down - how many recipes etc.
 
i see a book in the future - recipes for the degenerate gambler - i will be your agent lol.

 Thx for the vote of confidence,Prez., but let's not get the  cart before the horse. Most of the recipes I've posted are EZ    Cheap and Freezeable. I've got a notebook full, stuff my mother used to make that I've tweeked a little and some originals I've added to as time has gone on. I just hope everyone enjoys them and takes a little pride that they cooked something that they and others really liked.
