Could any of you guys eat this in 1 hour ?

Since then, 10's of thousands people from around the world have traveled to Amarillo and attempted to eat the specially cut 72-oz. top sirloin steak, a baked potato, salad, dinner roll and shrimp cocktail. Some have succeeded in completing the feat and joining the ranks of Big Texan champions. Many have failed

We have a joint that does something similar over this way.   I tried and FAILED    

 

They give you this big ass roll......Bread is the killer.    I was sick as a dog,  i got a jar of those bullets you stick up your ass and it makes you hit the bowl.   Used them all that day.

I tried it too.. I did pretty good but only got halfway thru the steak.. The key it to eat breakfast early and then wait until right after lunch... Don't go up there with a totally empty stomach....

i did a similar challenge and complete it in El Paso BUT i think that was only a 48 ouncer and the rest o' the stuff.... 72 is like 2 more lbs almost..... I got a tshirt for that one, not a free meal

My uncle did it in the late 70's when he was playing football at Okie St.  He said a group of the guys would go every year before workouts would start.  What surprised him was the number of female truckers that were in the book.
