You really need to get some squads who are the 'favorites' to win the WC. I believe there has only been one outside shot who has ever won (Uruguay in 50'). I would also stack my brackets w/ South American squads as NO European side has ever won on a WC on SA soil.
IMO, better sleeper squads are the following: Uruguay, Chile, France, and Portugal.
I think Nigeria and Cote I'voire will be the African sides to get through.
I also think that the 'shoe ins' to advance from their groups would be Brazil, Spain, France, Argentina, Germany, Portugal, and Belgium. All heavy (and rightfully so) faves to advance.
Realistically I would want my teams to consist of at least (1) powerhouse Euro squad, (2) big name SA squads, and a possible Euro sleeper (Belgium, France, etc). However, it is likely that you will draft teams who would end up cancelling the other out (for instance a Brazil/Chile matchup)
Teams to avoid at ALL costs in order of suckiness: Aussies, Honduras, Costa Rica, Iran, (Ghana and USA because of draw and unlikeliness to advance)
Teams I would personally avoid due to eye tests: Mexico, England, Netherlands, and Russia.
Teams likely to surprise and upset early: Japan, Ecuador, South Korea
That said...
I would prefer to draft: Brazil, Tina, and Uruguay as my two possible SA picks; and Germany, Portugal, or Belgium as my other two. As I said, lobby hard for bigger SA names, and try to scoop a solid Euro contender as well.
