My league changed the scoring for QB to make passing td = 6 points instead of the usual 4 points. Is that enough of a difference to rethink my draft strategy n take one of the elite QB in the top 5 picks or stick with loading up on RBs

I play in leagues exactly like that.  Trust me from experience, if you don't get one of the top 4 qb's it's an uphill battle the rest of the year.  The difference in that league between Aaron Rogers (the number 1 qb in the league) and the 10th qb was 230 pts.

Rogers scored 506 pts total last year.
Top rb was Rice...he scored 366 pts.
top qb was Calvin...he scored 387 pts.

The difference between the top qb's and the other positions is so big, you have to get a qb otherwise you're

If you have a top 5 pick you have to go qb first...if you don't you have to hit home runs on all your rb and wr picks and avoid injuries.  Really tough.

Agree with Alan as well. I would take Stafford at 5 if I had to in that league. I would also grade guys like Matty Ice, Romo, and Rivers a round higher as well. And believe me, I am not a fan of Romo.

I personally think that Stafford at #5 overall would be one of the worst picks in FF history.

My PPR league has very similar scoring and you're correct the difference between Rodgers to the 10th QB is about 220-230ish.

Every team though starts 2-3 RBs and WRs.  If its a 10 team league you're looking at 25 RB and WR starting on each team every week.  If it's a 12 team league than you're looking at 30+ of each starting each week.  The difference between Rice and the 25th RB was right around 220 in my league.  The difference between Calvin and the 25th WR was about 180 points.

I'm not saying that Rodgers, Brady and Brees won't be the top fantasy players again this year but if Rice, Foster or McCoy were there I would grab one of them first.

I know my initial question was top 5 picks but even at bottom half pick with the way the rbbc is takin over the nfl as well as the pass heavy schemes they use it seems as if it's def worth taking one after the top 4 picks assuming the elite 3 rbs
