sparky go look at the thread in yahoo, tell me if anything i wrote makes sense. i think i might have made sense of the whole situation.

I'm no longer getting involved. I'm going to bite the bullet on this one. A few of us misunderstood it and that's all. I'll survive.

But the most important thing to understand is that you can have TEN 4 year contracts on your team if you want...but no more contracts are allowed. You don't drop anyone just because you gave another 4-year contract to a player. As long as you keep it under 10...you're good. So you can have SEVEN 3-year contracts, TEN 2-year contracts or anything in between. It just has to be 10 contracts MAX.

yeah i dont think it will have too much of a impact on us next year (i hope) i just know now that draft picks have a far greater value than i first thought they did 

I agree. I figured that draft picks were FAR overvalued. I mean...you restock every year so technically, you could trade draft picks every year to help your team this year. Then, next year, when your team is stocked with shitty players because you didn't have draft picks, you could trade more draft picks. But, now knowing that you get more keepers every year, they are very valuable.

But...with players coming off contracts in 2012...the 1st rounders will be MAJOR. However...the rest of the rounds will be pretty much duds because 2 years worth of keepers/franchise tags/prospects will be under contract (for the most part).

figured I would ask this here too.

 

1. For your prospect/free agent contracts; the players have to be on YOUR roster at years end right?

2. What rounds do your KEEPER CONTRACTS take place of? If you keep 4 players, are they your first 4 rounds essentially?

 

I can't find anything about this in the rules, it may have went overlooked.
This is going to sound biased, but I've only seen it done this way. So, most guys picks wouldn't start until round 5. Draft picks still carry value then and it keeps the league from having those years, like 2013 and 2014, where the draft is stacked. You are keeping better players instead of using those first few draft picks.

 

If you have 7 guys, most likely those 7 keepers are better than any picks you would take in the first 7 rounds.

 

For instance....take Dynasty's team. With the keepers and his traded picks, he wouldn't get an actual pick in the draft until the 12th round.

 

I couldn't find this in the rules and just wanted to clarify it. If it was discussed and finalized a long time ago then obviously that's the way it stays.

power: u dont lose any picks for ur Keepers.  i took Hanley 1st overall and gave him my 4yr Contract but that doesnt mean i losr my 1st Rd next yr. 

 

Watching Raw right now. Punk got a bigger ovation than Nash. Kinda surprised that he didn't go over that well. I wonder what they had expected from Nash.

So...I'm watching the Punk/Nash promo now. How good is the show after that?

He hasn't posted in a few days and didn't start Harang at Petco on Monday. I didn't think much of it because he had a 7+ ERA. But you don't do that AND bench Morrow at Safeco.

Wasn't he ranked 2nd not to long ago?

Lucky it only got moved. I figured they'd box him. They are anal about trying to get people in a fantasy league for money as if they really think this thread is for guy who play free.

BTW...I know he's not around...but jesron gets about 1 homerfrom everyone on his team on every night.
