All I'm saying is that Cliff Lee didn't go to the Yankees solely because of Justin Smoak. He was a top prospect while Trumbo wasn't even a blip on the screen. Smoak is in the middle of a slump...he'll turn it around.

He began that day with a 7.04 ERA and has turned around his season since. Soria's 12/10 K/BB ratio through 18 2/3 innings is concerning, but his performance over the last month is definitely encouraging. The Royals' closer's 3.86 ERA and 1.39 WHIP figure to fall as the season progresses. We'd also expect him to start quickly adding to his meager seven saves on the season.
