If West Virginia was a 14pt favorite I would gladly take Texas Tech and the points playing in their homecoming vs a fraud of a team in WV. Sports gambling is all about situation and motivation.

Here is the reasoning... Tech has an explosive offense when faced against poor defenses. OU has a good d and exposed Doege's arm speed. He just doesn't have a gun. WVU will likely not be able to do the same so the Tech offense should be running on all cylinders. Texas last week played it conservative by not letting Ash loose and it cost them. Tech will not do the same. Expect this to be another back and forth game with the home team possibly having the edge.

IMO, Tech is much more apt to upset a team with a porous defense even if the other team has an amazing offense. Books think both teams will score often. And they know at some point West Va. will slip to a team with a better defense who made more plays than they could.

Texas needed to score as fast and much as possible and take advantage of a defensive edge, instead of trying to play ball control. When you do that with West Va, they will get theirs and you will come up short trying to keep it short and extended.
If Texas could have been turned loose to match pace they would have pulled out one more stop to win when all was said and done. Mack played it safe, kept Ash's arm from unleashing and West Va took advantage by outscoring.
Texas Tech can be a real problem at their own stadium. And West Va just went through an emotional war. This is certainly a spot West Va. could slip up. IMO, they win, but by 3-7. Making the spread very shaky. LIke the over.

I don't know much about TT but I really don't believe the WVU D is as bad as advertised. They need a leader or 2 and that will come as the season goes on.

I live in Lubbock too.....West Virginia has too much potency on offense. WV D plays well enough to get it done.
