Sorry, I like your FSU pick a lot, but I couldn't disagree with you more about TN. I know it looks strange with UT getting double digit points at home, but this isn't your typical Vol team. Kiffin dealt this program a major blow and the cupboard is bare. There are a couple of talented defensive players, but several gaps that make them vulnerable. The OL does not return even one starter, and this is front of brand new QBs who had never played a down at TN before last Saturday. Oregon will feast on this lack of experience, and new coaching system. It will take a minimum of two seasons to get back to close to norm. Most followers will be surprised to see them win 5 games in 2010. I honestly would even take them in a teaser with 21 points. Not trying to rain on your parade, and you may be right, but don't be misled by last week's late route of a very weak 1-AA team

I agree with everything you have said and I'm not betting on this game at all one way or another.
All I know is Tennessee, traditionally, is very difficult to beat by double digits at home. History backs that up.
Until proven otherwise, I will feel very safe taking the Vols at home getting double digits - new team/coach or not. In fact, I think the Vols having a new QB & Coach are probably the greatest thing that could've happened to them. They are due to be better than their recent history has shown.
I'll take *any* SEC team at home +13. New Mexico is terrible & Oregon plays very well at home - there's no doubt about that - but they are not the same team on the road.

I hear you, and that is historically logical. The new coach aspect doesn't bother me as much as the lack of talent. I am hoping bettors will follow your thought process and keep the line under 2 TDs. GL

Macallanlover-agree with u also. Had just read in Steele where UT OL has the 3rd fewest career starts(3) in the NCAA. RockyTop is not gonna be a happy place this year I'm afraid.

I will have a full writeup closer to the game but talking to some UT players, they are confident going into this game. UT's defensive coordinator is Justin Wilcox, who beat Oregon the last 2 years while the DC at Boise State. Both Wilcox and LB coach Peter Sirmon played at Oregon, too.

Can't see post-kiffin UT hanging with the ducks here. Loving the fact that it is still under 2 tds as UT got their "feel good" win for the season and now they will get to hear less and less of rocky top during the games for the rest of the season. Oregon is on a mission and should shred the UT defense and the stadium should be half empty after halftime. ORE 1st half, and game 2 units.

Good luck to all!
Oregon won't shred Wilcox's defense. UT's defense is fast/undersized and loaded with talent. Neyland will be sold out 102,000+ rocking at night. I sweated my ass off playing golf in the humidity as there is a 30% chance of rain the rest of the week. The key will whether or not UT can run the ball and set up play action on offense and whether or not Matt Simms has time and doesn't make mistakes. Oregon's OL is way undersized compared to SEC defenses.

I don't feel time change will be a factor for Oregon due to the late start. Humidity factor could hurt them if they lack quality depth, but the game is played in night time, cooler temps so they should be OK.
Not going to play the over because I really don't see TN scoring that much, even on a PAC 10 defense. I see this more as a 33-13 game, maybe a bigger margin but still see total around 50.

Oregon is flying in the night before the game and are playing the game as if it is a 4pm west coast game. While losing G Jones at WR sucks, UT is loaded at WR and will play 3 very talented freshman and sophomores. Our biggest playmaker WR Denarious Moore will start at the other WR spot. He was hurt last week but practiced yesterday and is good to go.

Not gonna be too much Rocky Top being sung that night. I look for Ore. to spank TN. TN-3rd youngest OL in country. New QB,Coach,scheme,etc...At 11.5 perception premium gone after blow out for Ore. imo. Congrove and Sagarin both have Ore undervalued at this price.

I don't believe that U.T. has dropped after Kiffins departure. Playing at Knoxville at night? Oregon is in for a surprise, surprise, surprise. i don't think that there will be another game that a SEC team will be a dog at home,by this much the rest of the year. Jump on U.T. now!

Since you talked to the guys and they seem confident, I am all over this one. Thanks for your help
