Senior left tackle Kyle Hix (right), who has 37 career starts, will miss the Oklahoma State game with a concussion, the Longhorns announced Thursday night. That leaves the critical spot in the hands of redshirt freshman Paden Kelley.
And that also leaves the left side of the line, protecting quarterback Garrett Gilbert’s blind side, entirely in the hands of freshmen. True freshman Trey Hopkins got his first career start last week at Kansas State after senior Michael Huey suffered what might be a career-ending injury to his right knee against Baylor on Oct. 30.
The Longhorns will now start three freshmen in the offensive line. Redshirt freshman Mason Walters has started every game this season at right guard.

Sometimes when it looks too good to be true, it is. Fact is, Oklahoma State's offense is for real and they will execute. No way Texas's efense can hold them down. On offense Texas is a mess, without any identity and an OC with no clue how to fix it. Horns will be inspired to avoid more humiliation, but as the poster above said, OSU has a lot of heartbreak to make up for....they will not play flat. OSU covers easily, enjoy the gift.
Oklahoma State by 12+ 4X play for me

Yes Texas' defense still is ranked high in yards allowed...and the main reason for that is the opponent has had short fields much of the time due to the offense being anemic. And also the costly turnovers on offense and special teams. Look at the yardage difference in Horns games...Texas won the yardage battle in each game all year. But guess what, they are 4-5. The defensive numbers are very misleading for the Horns. They've had to drive much further to score than their opponents almost all year, especially 2nd half of year.
That being said I just found the second gift on this game...
Okla St. total team points over 29.5
Cowboys have been held under 34 once all year...and that was the game Blackmon was out. No way Texas will hold them under 30 with the short field gifts they hand out, their offensive redzone problems, and the potency of this OSU offense. Over 29.5 is a gift.

Texas moneyline for me...oak st has no defense. yes they can score BUT just like i posted last time when texas won outright vs nebraska they still have the athletes to not only cover but win this game. Throw the baylor game away* even though i had oak st large) bc texas will play this game like a bcs game once again...Plus the points and moneyline...LIP

Texas will definitely be up for this game. Not good enough to shoot out with OSU, so I see a tight low scoring game. Love the line movement here too. Texas +5 GL

Not sure why everyone thinks this line is way off? It is still a conference game in which these guys play every year and Texas has dominated the series. Texas still has Mac Brown and a bunch of talented kids. I'll take the points at Texas in a series that has been dominated by Texas. I think Texas potentially wins outright. Texas also has a benchful of talented DB's and they handled TT's spread offense well..

Prervious history means NOTHING to these Cowboys, they didn't have nothing to do with previous implosions. This team won't take their foot off the gas. the defense has improved alot allowing only 17 to Tech and 14 to K-state at home and SHUTOUT Baylor in the first half and pulled starters midway in the 3rd and backups allowed some garbage points. They will ANNHILATE texas today!!
