This is a "pre-line" comment...

I would expect LSU to be the favorite easily somewhere in the -8 to -12 range.  Mississippi State has a slight edge in overall experience on the field.  This game is in Starkville, however LSU has beaten Miss St. 12 TIMES IN A ROW.  Statistically, MSU should have beaten Auburn except for all the rushing yards they gave up (235).  Having said that, MSU still out-rushed Auburn by 100 yds.  LSU held LaMichael James (Oregon RB), who rushed for over 1,000 yds in each of the past 2 years, to only 54 yds.  Penalties and turnovers are really what did Oregon in against LSU.  Had it not been for those, we could have had a very different result (I know...shoulda, woulda, coulda...). 

Keys to the game are MSU defense holding up against LSU's rushing game.  MSU needs to be successful in the passing game and they should be able to be successful to a degree against LSU's defensive backfield, but if they can't sustain even a little bit of a running game, it's going to be a long night for the Bulldogs.

If the line is LSU -12 or more, take the points.  If the line is LSU -8 or less, give the points.  I foresee a fairly high O/U given all the points both teams have been able to score AND despite this being an SEC matchup.  I'd go with the under if it's more than 48.

I smell an upset here, not really.  LSU should win this one with ease, if there is such a thing for LSU!  Never know what you will get out of that offense?  As stated above just enough to get the win.  Lee may have to throw the ball down field, that means we are in trouble! 

LSU -3 seems like a great play.  Miss State should have run over a weak Auburn team last week and instead got beat straight up because they ran the same running plays over and over even though they weren't working.  LSU 24-14 

Miss state lose by three or win straight up you guys write up shiit like yall know more than vegas.  Only game on thursday number 3 team vs # 25 and lined open at 3 or 3.5 going back and forth and 70 percent is on LSU.  If this lined opened at +6 ya'll would probably still take LSU it is obvious who vegas likes i am starting to think some of you guys work for bookies.  Time and time again i see the same ole crap and the opposite always happens.  Home dog with the small pts wins more than lose PERIOD.  Review most of the dogs who take 6 pts or less they will either win or cover.  Don't believe me check out the scores from last week... I don't have the time to list them all..  Bunch of amateurs i got miss state at 3.5 please drive the pts up more so i can double up .  iF betting was so easy where we just rely on what we see on paper shiit we all be winners.  You'll make more money paying attention to the line movement and public bet than what you actually see on paper PERIOD.  My reaction would be totally different if there was a bunch of games where one game like this might slip and vegas lose but this is the only game meaning alot of action and for it to open at 3 knowing public will pound on LSU.  I aint a sucka.   

Or maybe they think Miss State will rebound?? People know that Starksville is hard to play at, everyone saw what they did to Auburn last year.. Going from playing that horrible Auburn defense to a lights out LSU D, especially after they left it all out on the field last week?? Huge letdown spot for the Bulldogs..

LSU beat Oregon with the help of 5 turnovers. LSU looked more physical than Oregon, but I didn't need to watch the game to figure that one out. Miss State is cut from the same cloth as LSU and I see the home dog winning outright on Thursday night. I agree with 2 for tha money... I think it's obvious to see who Vegas wants you to put your money on.

Too many people view this game on the surface alone. Mississippi State will come out strong... I look for them to upset LSU.

Mis. State played a good game at Auburn last week but lost. Bulldogs could be sleeper team this year. Like Mississippi St not only to cover but win this one outright.

LSU -3 looks good here.  Need to be a little concerned since it is a Thursday night game in Starkville and some strange things happen on Thurs night games but still think LSU end up winning by about 4-7pts.

I thought this line would have opened at 6 or 7.  Shows how much I know!  Les Miles is the luckiest bastard on the planet so it's always tough to go against him.  I swear he sold his soul to the devil.  Anyway, LSU has a great defense but their offense concerns me.  State possibly was looking past Auburn to this game, but State has no business looking past anyone.Chris Relf showed he could run and pass and was explosive against a mediocre Auburn defense  I do think they will be up for this game but you guys can't tell me Starkville is a tough place to play, hell I have been there, it's barely better than a lot of high school stadiums.  All jokes aside this game in my opinion will come down the wire and I could very well see LSU winning by a FG.  So unless it gets up to 4 I will stay away.  Good luck to all as always.

Laroja - In the 20 years ive been a die hard ole miss fan living in Oxford, MS, i have never known of Starkville to have a reputation of being an unusually tough atmosphere for night games... However i do think MSU is nearing a top 10 quality team but don't think they are quite ready to pull off a win in the magnitude of a game.. similar to 2 years ago when they choaked against LSU at home.. and even last week.. Good program headed in the right direction but lack the experience to grab this big of a win.. in my oppinion.
