I like LSU heavy and have already bet them at 4.5 before it goes down further. I was at the LSU/Auburn game and this may be the best LSU team in school history. I, like everybody already knew of their speed but when I got to see them up close and live. I could not believe how kids that big could be that fast. The numbers do favor Bama slightly but who have they beaten, Penn St? Lets not forget that Bama has the #1 defense but hasn't played an offense with much of a pulse. LSU has faced 3 top 10 offenses in the nation. Plus, I like the fact that LSU has won 8 of 11 and 4 of last 5 in Bama. BOL to everyones picks
Arkansas, who hasn't lost any other game. Who has LSU beaten other than Oregon? If you are going to bring up West Virginia then don't bring down Penn St cause that win is looking like shit right now and Penn St hasn't lost any other games.
And what does it matter that LSU has won 4 of 5 at Bama. We were fucking horrible 3 of those years. We won the last one and we will win this one.

beat Oregon with suspended players so that is impressive to me. But can they stop Trent Richardson? If they do, ball game is over. If not, it will be a long day as other advantages will open up. Alabama has the edge on offense, defenses are pretty even. that night game stat is very intriguing and it seems very persuasive but ... I still like 'bama!!!!

Oregon is comparable to Arkansas. West Virginia is comparable to Penn St. Both played Florida and Tennessee. Vandy and Ole Miss are a wash with Kentucky and Miss St. I guess LSU played the mighty Auburn and that pushes them over the top?

Gotta weigh in on this one. Bama's defense is bigger, stronger, and more punishing. LSU's defense may have a little advantage with more team speed. On offense the QB posion is about even, Mccarron leads most of the stats but Lee has been more efficient(12TD's - 1INT). Bama has the big advantage in depth at running back and I believe that carries the day. Look at the stats and the Tide is the way to go. Home field advantage and revenge from last year. Give LSU the edge on special teams and Les Miles is the Mad Hatter expect a few rabbits up the sleeve. Bama to just over power LSU and cover. Bama -4.5 GLTA

bama has won last 2 of 3 in this matchup by 6pts or more, LSU won their last one against Bama barely by 3pts. ALABAMA-4.5 for me. In alabama & madd hatter will be out coached. BOLA!
Will take Bama up to -6.

Trent got hurt in last year's game and was not a factor. Maybe a big game this year to wrap up Heisman. He will need to after the performance Andrew Luck did against USC in prime-time. I think Trent does one better.

I think Alabama has the better RBs but I wouldn't exactly call that "depth". Richardson and Lacy will be the only two backs for the Tide on Saturday. LSU will rotate all 3. Lots more speed on LSU side. Power on the Alabama side. Won't matter. Both defenses will gameplan to stop the run. Going to land on the shoulders of AJ and Lee/Jefferson.

The player to watch in this game will be REUBEN RANDLE. Last year against this same secondary, he went for 125 yards and a TD. So far this year he has been going HAM averaging 19 yards per reception.

Schedules are close, but bama has struggled in the 1st half of games against terrble teams while LSU has beaten the dog shit out of teams from start to finish. Bama will not get the luxury of laying on their dicks against LSU with starting talent 2 deep at all positions. LSU will load the box and rely on their stud corners and safety to get some easy picks......Home fields doesn't mean squat in this game, LSU has played too many big games too get rattled by the inbred rednecks in Tuscalooosa. LSU easy here

Randle is a hell of a player, but this isn't the same secondary as last year. The same players, yes, but not the same in their play. No way in hell he comes close to that number Saturday.
The key in this game is going to be field position. If LSU gets a short field it will be a game, but they don't have any chance in hell of moving it 70 to 80 yards on Bama for 4 quarters. Nobody does. It is a team loaded with guys that will be playing on Sunday's for years to come.

You may also see Fowler who is half a notch below Richardson and Lacy. But even if you only see 2 RB's the caliber of Lacy and Richardson I would call that depth at the RB position. Gameplanning to stop the run and actually doing it are two different things. Much respect for the Bayou Bengals and I have watched many a Bama-LSU matchup over the years. Les Miles and Nick Saban may both have the best teams of their coaching careers. Should be a classic. Roll Tide! AU4040 good luck as always just not in this contest.

Yes but will LSU overcome Bama's defense. Plus coaching edge goes to the Tide.
Alabama - under
Col Jim glad to have you on board with the Tide! I know I have scolded a little for pickin against the Tide but what the hell I was right! BOL to you CJ time to cash in.

well i think lsu has done great at stopping spread offenses all year but now they will face bamas pro style, run up middle rushing attack which to me is why i lean bama here. that will neutralize their speed at defensive end. look for bama to go w/ intermediate passing routes. as far as lsu on offense, i think bama shuts down their rushing and forces lee to beat them. lee will throw 2 picks in this game i predict. and to those who say bama struggled in some first 2 quarters against vandy/tenn... tenn was moved ball on them, wvu moved the ball on them, they barely covered against miss st, and lets face it oregon game couldve been much closer if not for 2 critical turnovers in short span.
anyways ive been good at predicting bama in their big games... ive only posted a few times and may be wrong but i think bama at home wins 27 to 17.
ps lee will throw a pick 6

Saban will not lose two in a row to the mad hatter...I like alaBAMA! at home with their D in this one. The o/u is right where it should be so it could go either way on that side.

LSU is #1, Bama #2. And the only reason Bama is getting -4.5 is because they're at home.
Defensively both squads are tops in the country, there is no argument that will fall on either team being better than the other. They are both incredibly big up-front and incredibly fast in the secondary with LSU having better corners in Mathieu and Claiborne.
Switch it to the offensive side of the ball and again both are evenly matched. I can't say Bama has the better back field. Yes trent richardson is ia heisman candidate, but spencer ware is legit, he was suspended last game against Auburn and his back up (mike ford) still came in and f*cking torched it. Both Bama and LSU are evenly matched at RB. The difference in this game is gonna be McCarron vs. Lee/Jefferson. One thing is for certain, LSU at the wide receivers position is far superior to Bama with Ruben Randle possibly a top 3 wide out in the country.
This game is gonna be d*ck tight the whole way. LSU is gonna cover, -4.5 is way to much for Bama under the bright lights. Jarrett Lee is gonna find his receivers and Ware/Ford are gonna be able to run the football. McCarron won't have much time and LSU corner's will be in lock-down mode. Yes Bama is legit, they're at home but -4.5 against the #1 team in the country is an insult to Les Miles and his gang. He's gonna have his unit fired up and ready to roll on Saturday night.
Oh and if that's not enough, LSU had 3 suspended players, 2 starters in Ware & Mathieu, out against Auburn and they still rolled by 5 touchdowns. Now the squad is on full go. LSU wins this game they book their ticket to the National Title game even if they lose the SEC championship game. Which they won't.
LSU all day +4.5

An underrated stat. Saban does not like to be on the losing end of streaks.... but the series plays close.
2010 LSU 24 - BAMA 21
2009 LSU 15 - BAMA 24
2008 LSU 21 - BAMA 27 (OT)
2007 LSU 41 - BAMA 34
Average point difference = 6.25

would like to stay away from this one, but i know ill be watching it, so ive gotta play......i like LSU's QB situation better, plus there runners are underrated....i think the defenses are pretty much a push.....LSU plus the points for me, LSU 27 BAMA 24?

Leaning LSU and the over. Have that feeling there will be many points scored off turnovers in this one.
Faz, you do realize neither of these teams ever turn the ball over right? LSU +13 TO ratio (only 2 on them all year) Bama +10 TO ratio(only 3 on them all year)
Also worth noting that neither team GETS a ton of turnovers.....
