I agree with your logic, MSJ, but saying 'both teams blow' is a misnomer as IOWA has some quality wins on the road vs. Iowa St (Covered -6), Penn St (+10 won straight up, covered again) & Wisconsin (+2.5 won straight up, covered yet again). Iowa has an outside shot at a Nat'l Title chance -- if they remain unbeaten -- and seeing as how I've yet to take advantage of their recent stellar victories & UNREAL defensive prowess : IOWA +1.5 is the play

Hawkeye, very nice analysis. You had me thinking for a second but unfortunately, I'm gonna have to flip you. When handicapping, I don't really pay attention to an over abundance of stats. I mainly look at the opening line as compared to where I felt it should be. MIST opened at +1 at home. A 6-0 team vs a 4-3 team opening at +1. I'll be taking the home energy and cross my fingers that you are wrong about putting it all together. I had this game circled for weeks and I was peasantly surprised with the stats.
MIST -1'

Since everyone gave Iowa grief for winning by blocking a field goal, I guess everyone will say the same about Alabama?????........... oh wait I forgot THAT was in the "promised land" or SEC as the rest of us call it
